Budget Transfer#9 <br /> Mr. Marcelli made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Mills to approve Budget <br /> transfer#9 to provide funding for 4 teachers who will serve as tutors for <br /> after-school MCAS. <br /> W. School Councils and SEPAL budget message <br /> presentation was given by Liz Hendricks and Dan O'Neil from the KCC School <br /> Council. They would like to see literacy coaches and a full-time librarian returned to the <br /> school. They suggested looking at ICC & QS starting school at the same time to cut <br /> down on transportation costs. <br /> presentation was given by Mrs. Deer, Principal of the Quashnet School and <br /> Jane Dolan, school council member. Mrs. DeBoer, went over the list of <br /> recommendations from her staff and school council. The major request was the <br /> reinstating of a full-bine librarian and an Intervention Specialist. Intervention Specialist <br /> would not be a new position. They would look at some shifting of staff. <br /> A. presentation was given by Mr. Steve Babbitt, Principal of Mahpee Middle <br /> School and Meredith Kilpatrick, school council member. Overall the.middle school is in <br /> good shape and their needs are minimal. They would like to request additional LCIS <br /> projectors. Also they are concerned with the telephone system t always working <br /> properly)hope that something will be put in place to improve the'c mmunicati n. <br /> presentation was given by Mr. Alan winrw, Principal of Ilashpee High <br /> School and Art Wunder, school council member. The m:aj r requests from the Nigh <br /> School are Information Technology and the In-School Suspension program. <br /> No representation from SEPAL. Mrs. Bradshaw reported that they asked that all <br /> present services remain the same. <br /> Y. FY10 Budget Update <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw and Mrs. Grady reported that the meetings with the <br /> Finance Committee, Joyce Mason, and Selectman are moving,along well. <br /> V I. Elementary Math Program Presentations <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw asked the committee if they could commit to a new math program. <br /> Mrs. Bankston gave a brief overview of the costs. At this time the committee cannot <br /> commit to a new math program. <br /> VIL Quashnet Gui ancc Salaries <br /> Correcting line item <br /> VIII. Update on Mature Workers er Program <br /> Karen Atkinson, library assistant is being paid by the mature workers program. <br /> IX. Phone Charge Audit <br /> Ms. Lugo went over the positive feedback she received from other districts <br /> regarding the Chambers Advisory Group audits of phone charges <br /> Mr. Bailey made a notion, seconded by Mrs. Mills to contract with Chambers <br /> Advisory Group to have the school phones audited. <br /> Vote; Unanimous <br /> 2 <br />
