T � <br /> A <br /> School Committee Meeting <br /> April 7, 2010 <br /> Minutes <br /> Present were: Richard acrd Bailey, Janice Mills, Kathy Stanley, Jose Franco and Olivia <br /> Fisher. Also in attendance were Ann Bradshaw arta Maria Hortaridi . <br /> L Call Meeting to Order <br /> Ir. Bailey called the meeting to order @6:35pm. <br /> II. ' Executive Session <br /> Mr. Franco made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Stanley to move into Executive <br /> Session for the purpose of personnel, negotiation and litigation. <br /> Vote: Mr. Bailey, Mrs. Mills, Mrs. Stanley and Mr. Franco; opposed—none. <br /> III. **Public Comment <br /> A brief update was presented by Suzanne Avtges, MTA president <br /> Iv. Student Advisory Council <br /> Oliver Fisher gave an update on the upcoming events at the high School. <br /> V. Cyber Bullying—John Dolen <br /> Mr. Dolen,, Mashpee High School Adjustment Counselor spore about the article <br /> on cyber bullying that he wrote which was published in the Mashpee Enterprise. The <br /> Committee praised Mr. Nolen for his insightful article. <br /> VI. Update on College Admissions <br /> Lindsey Kett, Mashpee Nigh School Guidance Department Head gave an <br /> informative report: and update on the College Admission process. <br /> VII. Drop out Rate <br /> Mrs.. Bradshaw presented a report on the dropout rate at MHS. Compared to the <br /> state and local dropout rates Mashpee is very low. A :dropout prevention working <br /> group" has been formed to consider strategies to reduce the dropout rate at MHS. In <br /> addition, the staff is active in identifying students they feel are at risk offering the <br /> student(s) whatever support or services they may need. <br /> V11I. Update on Mashpee Middle School <br /> Mr. Babbitt presented a power point outlining the Many activities and events <br /> taping place at Mashpee Middle School. <br /> IX. *Approval of Minutes <br /> Mr. Franco made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Stanley to approve the minutes of <br /> March 10, 2010, <br /> Vote: Unanimous <br /> 1 <br />
