School Committee <br /> Finance Meeting <br /> Minutes <br /> March 16, 2011 <br /> Attendees: Kathy Stanley, Janice Mills and Scott McGee. Also in attendance were Ann <br /> Bradshaw, Superintendent of Schools and Maria Hortaridis, Business Manager. <br /> I. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Mrs. Stanley called the Finance meeting of March 16, 2011 to order @6:OOpm <br /> 11. *Executive Session <br /> Mrs. Mills made a motion, seconded by Mr. McGee to move into executive <br /> session for the purpose of conducting a strategy session in preparation for negotiations <br /> with nonunion personnel <br /> Roll Call Vote: In favor- Mrs. Stanley, Mrs. Mills and Mr. McGee; opposed-none. <br /> III. Business Administrator's Report <br /> 3.1 FYI l Budget Update <br /> Mrs. Hortaridis gave an update on the mums report. <br /> 3.2 Status of Grants, Revolving Accounts and Lunch Program <br /> Mrs. Hortaridis gave an update on grants, revolving accounts and lunch <br /> program. Mrs. Hortaridis praised Maureen Paxton for the wonderful job she is <br /> doing this year as Director of Food Services. <br /> 3.3 Update on Green Repair Program <br /> The district was not aware that there was going to be a cost to participate <br /> in the Green Repair Program. No monies were set aside for this project, therefore <br /> we do not anticipate going forward with it. <br /> 3.4 Update on Copiers <br /> The lease on 11 Xerox copiers is about to expire at the end of July. Mrs. <br /> Hortaridis is getting bids from Xerox, Toshiba and Kenmark. She will report back <br /> to the Committee at the next meeting. <br /> The Special Education bid is taking place on March 23, @11 am in the <br /> Superintendent's office. Mrs. Hortaridis will report back to the Committee. <br /> IV. School Choice Funds <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw recommends that the funds from school choice will go to non- <br /> APTAP courses; such as studio art, music theory, etc. At present there is about $10,000 <br /> in the account. <br /> V. *Dr. Seuss Books for Graduation <br /> No vote needed. The Committee agreed to continue to give the Dr. Seuss books <br /> at graduation <br /> 1 <br />
