-
Course Overview:
The intent of Junior Seminar is to insure that each student from Mashpee High School
demonstrates his or her achievement of the Expectations for Student Leaming as described in the
MHS Mission statement.
The MHS Junior Seminar is intended to allow students to organize, synthesize, and communicate
their accumulated knowledge for their future as well as a topic that reflects personal interests and
future goals as for his/her Senior Project. At MHS, it is our goal to provide students with tools
and resources that will guide students to the right decision for their future plans. All MHS
students must complete a Senior Project which represents a culmination of work in several,
subject areas that will include research, writing and performance pieces. Students in Junior
Seminar will begin to strategize for his/her senior project.
Students will continue to work on his/her Senior Project during their senior year. Senior Projects
will need to be completed by mid-term exams and students will present their Final Senior Project
Presentation during the third quarter of their Senior Seminar.
Senior Seminar is a full year course that is designed to allow students the time to complete their
Senior Project. The successful completion of Senior Seminar and a Senior Project is a
graduation requirement at Mashpee High School.
