r' School Committee Meeting Minutes 9!15/10 Present were Richard Bailey, Kathy Stanley, Janice Bills and Scott McGee. Jose Franco was absent. Also in attendance were Ann Bradshaw and Man*a Hortaridis. 1. Fall Meetine to order Mr. Bailey called the meeting to order at 6:35pm. II. ' Executive Session 2.1 To discuss strategy with respect to litigation Mrs. Mills made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Manley to move into Executive Session to discuss strategy with respect to litigation. Doll Call Vote: Mr. Bailey, Mrs. Stanley, Mrs. Mills and Mr. McGee; opposed—none, III. "Public Comment Deb Flaherty, Friends of the Mashpee Schools (newly formed parent group) spore about their goals and their vision to help make Mashpee Public Schools the best they can her Ron Keough, MTA President offered his support for the Tech Support position that firs. Bradshaw is recommending. Mrs. Cook informed the committee that if a new tech person was hired for the schools the Town would not be able to pay for the benefits. IV. Field Trip to Florida-Dan Patenau le Ir. Ptenude presented his request to have the Varsity Baseball Team attend baseball camp at Cocoa Expo in Florida during April, 2011. Mr. Bailey made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Mills to support Mr. P tenaude's request to have the baseball team attend baseball camp in Florida. Roll Call vote: In favor—Mrs. Stanley, Mr. McGee; opposed—Mrs, Mills, 1 r. Bailey. Tied—will bring back for a vote at the next meeting. V, Sports Related Head Injuries—Mike Horne Mr. Home gave an overview of the new lave on Sports-Related Head Injuries. Mashpee will be participating in a mandatory sports head injury and concussion awareness program beginning with the 2010-201 l school year. vIl *Approval of Minutes Mr. McGee made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Stanley to approve the minutes o August 1 , 2010.
