Dan <br /> Goggin was uanable t6 attend, The meeting was held at the Mashpee <br /> Town Hall . <br /> Please note for the record that the taping of this meeting is for <br /> the transcription of the Minutes only. once the Minutes are <br /> approved, the tapes will be reused. <br /> Correspondence <br /> Mr, Golub provided copies of a letter which he had sent to Anne <br /> Shaw, Treasurer. He asked that she respond nb later than April <br /> 5th, or ten days: The letter requests such things as a list of <br /> delinquent to payer , revised budget sheets for debt service, etc.. <br /> There was a memo from Greg Taylor, DPW Director regarding emergency <br /> repairs needed for Algonquin Avenue, a private road. <br /> There was also a letter from Patrick Dempsey, resident, requesting <br /> emergency repair to the road leadi, g to Pickerel cove Road. <br /> Bufflehead Bay <br /> The Executive Secretary provided a copy of a letter from the Town <br /> Planner in reference to Bufflehead Bay. Attached to the letter was <br /> the article that the Town Planner had prepared to be presented at <br /> Town Meeting. The.re was a letter -from Arthur Badger Blackett, Jr., ,, <br /> Senior Project Manager for the Trust for Public Land. The letter <br /> mentions that he will be unable to attend the Finance Committee's <br /> meeting as invited. Mr. Blackett tries to address certain issues <br /> that the Finance Committee have with the Bufflehead Bay article. <br /> Dave Bailey, Director of Assessing and Les Greig, Assessor, were <br /> present at the Town Hall and agreed to answer some questions that <br /> the Finance Committee had about ufflehead Bay. Mr. Bailey <br /> answered questions about the levy limit and the 'tax rate. Mr# <br /> Bailey mentioned that the levy base for FY97 is $15,800,000. Added <br /> to that will be 2 1/2%, any debt exclusions and growth. <br /> The Finance Committee asked if the Assessing Department has done an <br /> appraisal of B fflehead Bay. Mr. Bailey -explained that it had been <br /> done a couple of years ago and the whole package was assessed at <br /> Mi lion, The group agreed that if the.*r $250,000 purchase would <br /> tie up the remaining acres thea it is a great deal..
