10 <br /> Mr. Goggin questioned the Selectmen whether they have voted on the School Budget. <br /> Chairman Costa noted that they have not voted <br /> The presentation by Dr.DeMoura was adjourned at 9:15p.m. <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE REVIEW <br /> WITH EXECUTIVE SECRETARY AND SELECTMEN <br /> ANNUAL TOWN MEETING ARTICLES: <br /> The Finance Committee reviewed the Annual Town Meeting Articles,which they had <br /> questions on,with the Selectmen and Mr. Whritenour,Executive Secretary. <br /> Article 5: Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Museum: <br /> Article 6: Mr. Golub commented that we are going to give the property to the Native <br /> Americans and we are going to give the$50,000 and then we have no more <br /> commitment. The Selectmen stated that is correct. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Gallo to approve Article 5 and 6. <br /> Seconded by Mr. Goggin. <br /> Vote:Unanimous 7-0. <br /> Article 11: Town Cemetery: <br /> Request which came in from the Cemetery Study Committee. They have <br /> indicated that they need to have a consultant to help define the parameters for <br /> the new cemetery. Mr. Costa,Chairman of the Selectmen,noted that he <br /> discussed this with Greg Taylor and Mr. Taylor stated that he would do the <br /> work if requested Also,the Town Planner could do some of the work <br /> Article 41: Environmental Consultant Account: <br /> Mr.Whritenour commented on this new article in the Annual Town Meeting <br /> Warrant. Article 41 is in the amount of$25,000 for an Environmental <br /> Consultant Account. This would be to provide some Engineering assistance for <br /> monitoring the study of the town's environmental issues. Mr.Costa noted that, <br /> as far as this money being used,it can be made subject to Finance Committee <br /> approval. <br /> Mr. Golub questioned why this money cannot come from the Reserve Account <br /> because it is an"as needed"fund Mr. Golub suggested that we put an amount <br /> of$15,000 in the reserve account and use it when we need it. <br /> Gift of Land to the Water District: <br /> Mr. Golub questioned Mr. Whritenour on the status of the gift of land to the <br /> water district. Mr.Whritenour stated that it is not currently on the warrant It <br /> is on a hold status. It would take a vote of the Selectmen to place it on the <br /> warrant. <br /> Article 36: Land for Sale: <br /> Article 37: Mr. Costa commented on these two articles. Mr. Costa stated, in regards to <br /> Article 37,that a parcel of land is available along the Mashpee River and there <br /> is a developer trying to buy it. The man does not want to sell it to have houses <br />
