4+ t{ 2 Article : Purchase Parcel of Land Containing 15.22 Acres Mr. Golub noted for the record that at the second night of Town Meeting,the Finance Committee changed their position on one of the Articles. The Article affected was Articic 36 which was to purchase a parcel of land containing 15.22 acres. The Finance Committee voted to recommend Article 36. TOWN OF MASHPEE EXPENSE LEDGER: The Finance Committee reviewed the Town of Ilshpee Expense Ledger, Summary by Control Account,and the percent expended for the accounts. Mr. Golub noted that, according to the Town Accountant.,,the ideal percent expended on each line item is %. SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETINGS: Letter from Robert whritenour Regarding School Committee Budget Review: IIIc. Golub stated that the Finance Committee received a copy of a letter written by the Executive Secretary,Robert whritenour,to Dr_Lincoln A.DeMoura, Superintendent of Schools. The letter stated that the Board of Selectmen discussed the proposal of the School Committee for a meeting in July to begin reviewing budget needs for fiscal year 1999. In addition,the letter stated that the Board wishes to propose that the School Committee and the Board of Selectmen enter into a series of meetings, involving the Finance Committee also. Letter from Dr. Lincoln DeMoura to Sidney Golub FinanceCommittee: Mr. Golub commented on the letter he received from.Dr.Lincoln A. DeMoura, Superintendent of Schools, in which the Mashpee School Committee invites the Finance Committee to a joint meeting of the Mashpee Board of Selectmen and the I M shpee Board of Assessors on Wednesday,July 9, 1997,at 7:00 p.m. in the Quashnet School Cafetorium. Mr. Golub noted that one of the issues which will be raised at the meeting will be the budget for next year. lir. Golub suggested that the Finance Committee set up a joint audit/budget subcommittee to review the budget with the School Conunittee and the School Superintendent on a periodic basis. It was agreed by the Finance Committee that a letter be sent to Dr. DeMoura informing him that.the Finance Committee will have a presence at this meeting on July 9, 1997. REQUEST FOR TRANSFER FROM THE RESERVE ER FUND TO THE FIRE rl_I.I_P. DEPARTMENT EXPENSE ACCOUNT: A Request for Transfer from the Reserve Fund has been submitted to the Finance Committee from the Fire Chief, George Baker,in the amount of$12,269 to be transferred to the Fire Department Expense. Fire Chief Baker submitted a letter explaining the details of the request. The Finance Conunittee reviewed the letter submitted by Chief Baker. Fire Chief Baker commented on his Request for Transfer along with his letter to the Finance Committee.
