4+ <br /> t{ <br /> 2 <br /> Article : Purchase Parcel of Land Containing 15.22 Acres <br /> Mr. Golub noted for the record that at the second night of Town Meeting,the Finance <br /> Committee changed their position on one of the Articles. The Article affected was <br /> Articic 36 which was to purchase a parcel of land containing 15.22 acres. The Finance <br /> Committee voted to recommend Article 36. <br /> TOWN OF MASHPEE EXPENSE LEDGER: <br /> The Finance Committee reviewed the Town of Ilshpee Expense Ledger, Summary by <br /> Control Account,and the percent expended for the accounts. Mr. Golub noted that, <br /> according to the Town Accountant.,,the ideal percent expended on each line item is %. <br /> SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETINGS: <br /> Letter from Robert whritenour Regarding School Committee Budget Review: <br /> IIIc. Golub stated that the Finance Committee received a copy of a letter written by the <br /> Executive Secretary,Robert whritenour,to Dr_Lincoln A.DeMoura, Superintendent of <br /> Schools. The letter stated that the Board of Selectmen discussed the proposal of the School <br /> Committee for a meeting in July to begin reviewing budget needs for fiscal year 1999. In <br /> addition,the letter stated that the Board wishes to propose that the School Committee and the <br /> Board of Selectmen enter into a series of meetings, involving the Finance Committee also. <br /> Letter from Dr. Lincoln DeMoura to Sidney Golub FinanceCommittee: <br /> Mr. Golub commented on the letter he received from.Dr.Lincoln A. DeMoura, <br /> Superintendent of Schools, in which the Mashpee School Committee invites the Finance <br /> Committee to a joint meeting of the Mashpee Board of Selectmen and the I M shpee Board of <br /> Assessors on Wednesday,July 9, 1997,at 7:00 p.m. in the Quashnet School Cafetorium. <br /> Mr. Golub noted that one of the issues which will be raised at the meeting will be the budget <br /> for next year. lir. Golub suggested that the Finance Committee set up a joint audit/budget <br /> subcommittee to review the budget with the School Conunittee and the School Superintendent <br /> on a periodic basis. <br /> It was agreed by the Finance Committee that a letter be sent to Dr. DeMoura informing him <br /> that.the Finance Committee will have a presence at this meeting on July 9, 1997. <br /> REQUEST FOR TRANSFER FROM THE RESERVE ER FUND TO THE FIRE <br /> rl_I.I_P. <br /> DEPARTMENT EXPENSE ACCOUNT: <br /> A Request for Transfer from the Reserve Fund has been submitted to the Finance Committee <br /> from the Fire Chief, George Baker,in the amount of$12,269 to be transferred to the Fire <br /> Department Expense. Fire Chief Baker submitted a letter explaining the details of the <br /> request. The Finance Conunittee reviewed the letter submitted by Chief Baker. <br /> Fire Chief Baker commented on his Request for Transfer along with his letter to the Finance <br /> Committee. <br />
