r <br /> Mashpee Finance Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> Tuesday, September 23, 1997 <br /> Present: Alec Watt,Chairnnan <br /> ,ling Cleary,Ilan Goggin, Sidney Golub,fancy Goulart,Mike cumin <br /> Absent: Tony Gallo <br /> Meeting Called to Oder by Chairman Watt at 6:3 5 p.m. at the M shpee Town lull, <br /> Selectmen's Meeting Room,on Tuesday, September 23, 1997. <br /> SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING of SEPTEMBER 17,1997: <br /> Mrs. Gulrt distributed an overview sheet of the topics which were dismissed at the School <br /> Committee me ting she attended on September 17, 1997. <br /> OCTOBER ANNUAL TOWN MEETING,.ARTICLE <br /> DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS TO MEDICARE,„MEDICAL WSURANCE,ANIS <br /> GROUP INSURANCE ACCOUNT: <br /> Chairman Watt noted that,per discussion with Anne Shaw,Article 3 may be as high as <br /> $1803900. This is based on the fact that instead of 22 cmployees there are 33 employees who <br /> are now claiming benefits. The original amount rcquested was$129,650. Mr. Watt noted <br /> that there is 1.2 million dollars in the health insurance account. Mr. Watt saggestcd holding <br /> this Article until the Special Town Meeting. <br /> Chairman Watt requested Mr.I um n,Liaison for the Treasurer/Tax Collector,to contact <br /> Anne Shaw and see whether she has any up-to-date calculations on what the figure actually is <br /> and whether it can be held until the Sial Town Meeting. <br /> suggestion was discussed whereby two line items would be created under Medical <br /> Insurance--a line item for Town Employees and a line item for School Employees. <br /> Chairman Watt noted that at the meeting last night with the Selectmen,they agreed that this <br /> Article could}be put off until Special Town Meeting. The Finance Comnuttee discussed <br /> holding this Article until Special Town Meeting. <br /> OCTOBER TOWN MEETING,ARTICLE 9 <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE POSITION ON TAX RELIEF: <br /> The Finance Committee met with Mir.Robert Whntenour,Executivc Secretary,and the <br /> Selectmen last evening on Monday, September 22, 1997,for the purpose of reviewing the <br /> distribution of Free Cash and the Stabilization Fund, The Finance Committee will meet <br /> again with Mr. Whriteno r next Monday, September 2% 19977 at 6;00 F.M.for the purpose <br /> of defining their position on the Free Cash and the Stabilization Fundi, ' <br />
