Motion to Approve School Budget: <br /> Motion made by Mr. Golub that the Finance Committee recommend <br /> the School Budget in the amount of$11,100,900 with the provision i <br /> that this amount is tied to the State aid of Chapter 70 monies in <br /> minium amount of$1,800,000_ <br /> lotion Bonded by Mrs. Goulart. <br /> Discussion on Motion: <br /> Lr. Goggin questioned where the benefits stand with the amount of <br /> $11,100,000. He noted that if you acid the$600,000 in benefits,you are talking <br /> a budget figure of$11,700,000,plus Cape Cod Tech. <br /> Mr. Goggin commented that he feels they have a good starting point with the <br /> Foundation Budget being used as the basis. He noted that if you take the <br /> Foundation Budget from the Mate in the amount of$11,,159,671 and you add <br /> 100 students to that at$5,000 per student,the amount is at approximately <br /> $11,660,000 and then you subtract out the benefits,which bangs you to an <br /> amount of$11,100,000. <br /> Chairman watt noted how the figure of$11,100,000 was arrived at: <br /> • Estimated the increase from last year I budget and the increase in <br /> population. <br /> • Took the state"s foundation budget,added 100 students,and came <br /> up with$11,660,000 and took out the benefits and came up with an <br /> amount of$11,100,000. <br /> Vote on Motion* <br /> Vote-,Unanimous. -0. <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE M 'T G: <br /> The next regular meetings of the Finance Committee will be held on: <br /> Tuesday,March 10, 1998,at the Mashpee Town lull, <br /> beginning at 6:30 P.M. <br /> Wednesday,March 11, 1998,at the Mashpee Town Mall, <br /> beginning at 6:30 P.M. <br /> Chairman watt noted that a representative from the Library should attend one of the Finance <br /> onur ittee meetings to discuss their budget. <br />
