i 7 Selectmen Expense: Motion t Increase Selectmen Expense; Motion made by Mrs. C-oWLq t to increase the recommendation of the Finance Committee by$1,500 for the Flag lay expenses.for the Selectmen Expense from$23,150 to$24,650. Motion seconded by.Mr. Cleary. Vote:Unanimous. 5-0. Treasurer/Tax Collector Salary&Wage: Chain an.watt reviewed the information regarding the part-tine clerk he received from Anne Shaw,Treasurer,as follows: $8,712.00 and 19.75 hours per week for 52.2 weeks. Vere would be no.benefits. Comparison with other towns,noting number of employees and number employees in Treasurer's office: Sandwich 750 Employees 2 People Chatham 300 Employees 1 Person Harwich 800 Employees 2 People Yarmouth 450 Employees 1.5 People Chairman watt noted that the Town of Il a hpee has 500 employees and this rakes us a little more than Yarmouth who has 1.5 people. There was discussion among the Finance Committee members concerning the addition of part-time clerks for various departments and the addition of the full-time Floating Clerk- It lerk.ft was noted that the addition of the part-time clerk is in the form of an Article in the Annual Town Meeting warrant. Motion to Accgpt Treasurer/Tax Treasurer/TaxCollector Salary&wage: Mr.Kumin made a motion to approve the Selectmen's recommendation for Treasurer/Tax Collector Salary&wage in the amount of$120,884. Motion seconded by Mr. Cleary. Vote:Unanimous. 5-0. Planning Board menses There was discussion as to why the recommendation of the Selectmen.was$6,000 while the Department Request for the Planning Board Expense was$10,000. Chairman watt stated that there is a Town Engineer coning on next January, if approved. The Expense line for the Planning Board handles their Engineering account. 'Therefore,they figured they would need approximately six months of that expense account plus a little additional for the new Town Engineer to came up to speed.
