2 <br /> FINANCE C MMITT .MEE'T'ING 1 II TLTTES: <br /> rfuesd Februa 2 1999 Regglar Session <br /> Motion made by Chairwoman Goulart to approve the <br /> Finance Committee Regular Session Minutes of Tuesday, <br /> February 2, 1999,as submitted. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Cashman. <br /> Vote-Unanimous 5-0. <br /> BUDGET REVEEw - DEBORAH IAMI TOWN CLERK. <br /> Deborah Dani, Mashpee Town Clerk,was present to discuss her Fiscal Year 2000 Budget <br /> Request. ' <br /> Mr. watt questioned TIAs. ) ami on Budget stern 107,Town Clerk Other Purchase Services. <br /> Nis.Dams stated that with her FY2000 budget request,she is bringing the amount up to what <br /> the Clerk's office request had been for Fiscal Year 1998. She stated that the office is <br /> struggling to faffill some of the need, such as binding. She added that the cost of everything <br /> is going up and she finds it hard to buy simple items such as book-end Molders. She stated <br /> that the cost on the warranty maintenance for the voting machines is also going up. <br /> Chairwoman Gulart questioned Ms.Dani on Budget Item 103, Town Clerk Senior Clerk. � <br /> Ms.Dani stated that she was planning on ung her Clerk ill-time;however,in the course <br /> of the last six weeks,the Elutions Secretary has taken a position with the Board of Health. <br /> As a result, she now has a full-time vacancy which she will fill with her part-time Clerk. She <br /> stated that she will now leave the Senior Clerk position at a part-time position. Ms.Dams <br /> stated that she assumes, as per her meeting with Mr. whritenour,that her Town Clerk <br /> Switchboard gyrator will be removed from the budget request.. Ms. Damm stated that a <br /> Switchboard Operator could take all the incoming calls and direct them appropriately in <br /> addition to performing receptionist duties. <br /> Its. Dani noted that the revised figure for the Town Clerk Senior Clerk would be last year's <br /> request in the amount of$9,033 plus any P.A.P. increases to go along with that. The fid <br /> for the Town Clerk Switchboard Oper ec ptionlist in the amount of$19,827 will be <br /> removed. She added that the article will also be taken out to make the Senior Clerk position <br /> lull-tune. It was noted that the Town Clerk Salary&wage will be changed from the original <br /> requested amount of$119,962 to approximately$90,000. <br /> Mr. Golub questioned Ms. Darns regarding Budget item 101,Town Clerk Elected Salary. He <br /> noted that the Clerk salary budget request has gorse up$6,000. Ms.Dami noted that the <br /> position itself has enough responsibility to justify an increase that would make the salary <br /> higher than some of the Administrative Assistants that are currently in the clerical union. <br /> Mr. Golub questioned Ms. Dams if she knows what the salaries are of other Town Clerks on <br /> the Cape. hiss.Dami stated that she does not have that information. <br /> Ms.Dams stated that she is the only Town Clerk that is responsible for the Beach and <br /> Transfer Station Sticker Office. She noted that she estimated for Fiscal 1999 she took in <br /> close to$194,000-justfor Beach and-Transfer Station Stickers. <br />
