Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> February 26, 201 <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Board of Selectmen Polio 07 Domestic Violence Leave Palk <br /> The Board of Selectmen reviewed the Domestic Violence Leave Policy proposed for adoption. This <br /> Policy was previously reviewed by the Board and tabled for further review. Several Massachusetts <br /> communities were surveyed regarding employment leave to address an abusive situation. <br /> In accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 149, §52E employees are entitled to 15 days of leave under the <br /> new Domestic Violence Law., If required by an employer's leave policy,the employee may be <br /> required to exhaust all available vacation, sick and personal time before leave is requested or talon <br /> under the DVLA. The Policy can be waived on a case-by-case basis. <br /> There was concern for employees who may be victims of abusive behavior who may be required to <br /> exhaust available vacation, sick and personal time before leave is requested or taken under the <br /> Domestic Violence Leave Act. Town Manager Rodney C. Collins was requested to convey to staff <br /> .embers what may be reasonable, and what would not be reasonable. In response Town Manager <br /> Rodney C. Collins gave verbal assurance to the Board of Selectmen that he 'Intends to be fair and <br /> consistent to employees with respect to this regard. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve Polio 075 Domestic Violence Leave Policy as <br /> amended on this date. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman* <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o# <br /> Loll Call Vote <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Opposed, none <br /> Board of Selectmen Policy 076 Issuance and Use of Stickers and Passes.- <br /> It <br /> asses:It was recommended the Board indefinitely postpone the new policy proposed for the Issuance and <br /> Use of Stickers and Passes for further refinement. <br /> Lotion made by Selectman Cahalane to Indefinitely Postpone review of proposed Policy 076 <br /> relative to the Issuance and Use of Stickers and Passes as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VO'C'E; Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes opposed, none <br />
