T1 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> March 12, 2018 <br /> LIAISON REPOR'T'S <br /> Outreach with respect to the natter of Gun Reform- In the wale of the parldand, Florida incident, <br /> Selectman Gottlieb indicated he has been working with high school students from the Towns of <br /> Mashpee and Nauset in preparation for the national assembly/demonstration on the matter of gum <br /> refornn. Selectman Gottlieb indicated this has been a rewarding experience, and with the generosity of <br /> concerned citizens funding has been secured for transportation, meals and an overnight stay. <br /> Schools- <br /> Selectman Sherman and Selectmen Cotton recentlyconducted a tour of the lashpee schools <br /> . <br /> with School Superintendent Patricia DeB oer, The process was very enlightening. Instruction methods <br /> and the level of programming offered by the schools today are distinctive in terms of past standards. <br /> To minimize disruption,the visit:is being offered to Torn Officials and board/committee members, on <br /> an individual basis with two respective attendees at one time. Students were also noted to be <br /> respectful of those observing their daily activities at school during scheduled tours. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to adjourn at 7:27 p.m. entering into Executive Session <br /> from which the Board will not return to Open Session to discuss the following matters; <br /> Discuss Litigation Strategy Relative to Opioid Tort Action. Pursuant to G.L. c, 30A, §21(a)(3): <br /> Discuss Strategy with Respect to Litigation in the Matter of Littlefield v. U.S. Department of the <br /> Interior and Related Federal Land in Trust Proceedings with Respect to Mashpce Wampanoag <br /> Tribe Real Property,where an Open. Meeting may have a Detrimental Effect on the Litigating <br /> Position of the Town (G.L. c. 30A, §21(a)(3)): <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> 'OTE* Unanimous' 5-0. <br /> Roll Call vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Cahalane,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Opposed, none <br /> Respectfally submitted, <br /> Iathicen M.
