Originally it was set at <br /> $609,262. It has been reduced to$43,591. This reflects the elimination of a proposed <br /> Senior Clerk. <br /> Remaining in the account is the Administrative Assistant and coverage for when she i <br /> on vacation and during p k periods. <br /> 562 Patrol Salaries <br /> Chief Przybylek noted this is the major account for the patrol division. This is all of their <br /> sworn personnel with the exception of the Chief and the amu'. They.are all the Patrol <br /> Officers,Detectives,and Sergeants. He noted that the four new proposed positions have <br /> been el mated. Therefore,the account has been reduced to$1,238,63 1. <br /> 566 Spacial Police Officers <br /> Chief Przybylek noted that the increase is due to PAP salary increases. He stated that the <br /> Selectmen are interested in looking at this line. He stated that he has no objection to the <br /> account being reduced because they do not have much of a reliance on special police <br /> officers. <br /> 157 vertime ExpMse for Dqputy ghief <br /> Chief Pryblek noted this is the overtime account for the Deputy Chief,as part of his <br /> contract. <br /> Police Rlpartment FY1 nd e : Engnse <br /> ddl Line Item Deal <br /> 205 Police nr <br /> �.� Unchanged. Gas and electricity for the building. meld around the same number for at <br /> least the last three gears. <br /> 06 Police RMairs and Maintenance <br /> Chief Pr4bylek noted that this is contracted expenses—all of the maintenance <br /> contracts. There is a reduction in this aunt to$36,901. The reduction is 112 of the <br /> annual contract amount for the Department's Domestic Violence Specialist at <br /> Independence House. Chief Pr ybylek stated that under the Violence Against Women <br /> Act,a lot of the Mates developed grant programs to put more emphasis in this particular <br /> area.. One of the things they slid is to have a civilian,a non-polio employee and a <br /> domestic violence counselor,to meet with the domestic violence victim. She guides <br /> them through the process,reassures them as to what to expect from the criminal justice <br /> item and coaches them into some of the things that the victim might do to bring the <br /> situation to closure. Chief Pr ybyiek noted that they made some changes in the <br /> equipment that the porson uses and reduced significantly a lot of the in-grant overtime <br /> that they paid to offims for follow-up and now can pay this person's salary through the <br /> contract with Independence Douse. He said that they were able to tale the$12,000 out <br /> of the contract section of the budget and they will still retain that pers . t <br />
