4 <br /> Finance ommitteeJ larch 7,2000 <br /> mrd 2f Yealth Buftet <br /> Mr.McQuaid r vie ed the FY20001 Budget for the Board of Health. <br /> Mr.McQuaid noted that he has requested$3,500 for Vehicular Supply Expense and the, <br /> Selectmen ien have recommended o less--$3,000. He stated that the reason he increased this <br /> dine itx from$2,500 to was due t the significant incr�in pert tests that were <br /> done in November and December by their office, He stated that things have now gone back to <br /> nomal and he can live with the reduction. <br /> Mr. McQuaid noted that they are requesting a part-tine clerk for their office who would work <br /> 19 hours per week. The salary for this part-tine clerk would be$10,246. He noted that he <br /> had a warrant Article for this additional cleric. Mr.McQuaid commented that several years <br /> ago they had a part-time clerk and they would like to get a cleric again because there has been <br /> such an increase in the work. <br /> n Services L)eMrtmenta <br /> Mr.l Quaid reviewed the FY2001 Budget for Mashpee Hunan Services. <br /> Mr.Maid informed the Finance Committee that they have an Article on the Town <br /> Warrant for the position of a full-time Human Services Coordinator. Mr.McQuaid stated <br /> that this position has igen in existence for two ycars under contractual agreement with <br /> Falmouth Human Services. <br /> The Town warrant Article notes that bringing the Human Semices Department under the <br /> Board of Health will eliminate a now unnecessary layer of administration. With increasing <br /> requests for hu an service needs,the Board of RWth is recommending that this position b <br /> included directly under the Board of Health with one qualified person in a position t <br /> supervise,coordinate,review and monitor the activities of the more than dozen human service <br /> agencies which are under contract with the Town,as well as provide direct counseling <br /> services and respond to critical human service needs of Mashpee residents. <br /> M . Louise Patrick disci her position as Hinnan Services Coordinator with the Finance <br /> Committee. She pointed out that during the past calendar year,she provided counseling to <br /> 103 individual,couples,and lilies.
