ASHP E FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> T <br /> MIN-UTES <br /> TUESDAY,JANUARY 1,2001 <br /> Present: C f Dean Arden <br /> .teff Arnold,Fred Blythc,Steve Cain,James Morgan,Carlton Meredith <br /> Absent: a Gibbs <br /> Also Present: Veronica Darden,Board of health <br /> Dennis'H.' a arini,Planru'ng Board <br /> ALL To ORDER: <br /> The meeting was called to order byChairman' Dean Arden at 6:30 p.m.,at the Mashpee'Town Hall, <br /> 'Meeting Room#1,on Tuesday,January 9,200 1. <br /> "E VEST FOR TRANSFER FROM THE RESERVE FUND To BOARD of HEALTH: <br /> Veronica warden, Assistant Board of Health Agent,was present at the meeting to request a transfer of funds <br /> from the Deserve Account m the amount of$13,,022.03 to the Board of Health Pro/Tech Account for Consultant <br /> Services. <br /> Ms. Warden said the Health Agent became sick in early August and was operated on October 5,he is very <br /> seriously ill and she cues not know if he is going to return to work.. She has had help from the county agent <br /> with annual inspections a couple of days a week. They had 95-100 inspections that needed to get done by <br /> December 31 . She cannot do it alone,the stress is overwhelming,and is asldng for some help unto they find <br /> out if the Health Agent is corning back. The County can give someone for only so long because they are short <br /> of help themselves. They can help with inspections but once those are over that is it. The agreement wiU <br /> provide monies for health agent services two days per week until such time as the Health Agent ret ns to wort <br /> or the Town receives his resignation and a new Health Agent is employed. <br /> Discussion f6flo ed regarding correct figure needed. It was determined that$14,553.15 was the correct figure <br /> with fringe benefits. <br /> Carlton Meredith made motion to approve the request from the Assistant Health Agent for$14,553.15 for <br /> purposes outlined in the letter of request. <br /> Dean Arden seconded motion. <br /> Jim Morgan detemiined a figure of$13,863.71 and asked if the Health Agent was on salary. Ms. warden said <br /> he is still on salary. The sick bank gave him a month,which ended yesterday. <br /> Jim Morgan proposed approving a figure to pay salary for 90 days,which will give therm time to find out where <br /> this is going and made notion for an amendment to the original motion to grant a salary for Consultant Services <br /> for 90 days plus two weeks in January,which will take them to May 1 . <br /> Jeff Arnold seconded motion on amendment. <br /> Noted—6-�0—Unanimous. <br /> Potion ruade and seconded to approve a tirasfer of$9,000 from the Reserve Account to the Board of Health <br /> Pro Tech Account. <br /> Voted 6- —Unanimous. � <br />
