That would b <br /> a$2,251.20 increase,which would bring her salary up to$43,075.20 this year. <br /> Dean Arden asked fora revised budget. <br /> REOUEST FOR TRANSFER FROM RESERVE FU"To HERRING WARDEN ACCOUNT: <br /> request was received for a transfer from the Reserve Fund to the Herring Warden Account i the amount of <br /> $3,500 to install gates and other access-prevention accessories on the Mashpee River and on the Quashnet <br /> Riven. <br /> Discussion followed regarding if emergency,if not would like to have him in to discuss the request. <br /> The Board agreed to table the request and to ask the Herring Warden to come in to discuss. Dean Arden said he <br /> would ask him to core in next week. Jim Morgue noted that he has not seen the Herring Warden budget, <br /> would like to get one. Fred Blythe suggested inviting Leigh Potter and also Chuce Careen. <br /> DISC S I N REGARDING TREASURER/TAX COLLECTOR BUDGET: <br /> T: <br /> .i.i�ni�■ter■i i i ■ ■ rw�ww^■ ■ius iii i�■�n���■�■r�-- <br /> Dean Amen informed the Board that there are new figures for medical insurance on the Treasurer/Tax Collector <br /> budget and handed out revised budget on mechcal insurance with anticipated rate increase of 20%for 2002. <br /> Fred Blythe said that figure does not include any new employees. <br /> DISCUSSION REGARDING SCHOOL BUDGET; <br /> Dean Arden handed out articles on education for the Board's review,stating that this is a conservative view <br /> showing that there is no success in improving test scores of disadvantaged students. <br /> Discussion followed regarding the school budget andwing a number they can approve then let the school <br /> department figure out for themselves. Fred Blythe suggested pic Ing out number or percentage and send it to <br /> the Selectmen. <br /> x <br /> Jeff`Arnold said it is important to go back to money returned fast year from town departments,which was <br /> $ , CI. Discussion followed regarding excess of money spent by the school department for things they do <br /> not necessarily need.. The results of the poll for the school budget at their last discussion ranged from$800,1000 <br /> to$1.1 million. Jim Morgan suggested owing up with a number,give it to the Selden and say this is what <br /> the Face Committee will support. Discussion followed regarding what number they would support. <br /> Jeff Arnold made motion to submit to Selectmen budget.of$14,925,000 with a$850,000 increase. <br /> Jim Morgan seconded, <br /> Voted—5-1 <br /> Arnold,Blythe,Cashman,Meredith,Morgan, —Approved <br /> Arden—Opposed. <br /> Chainnan Arden noted that the school depaitnent is asldng for a$1.6 million increase over last year. He <br /> delegated Fred Blythe to stand up and expo the Fitmce Committee figure. <br /> DISCUSSION F POLICE BUDGET: <br /> Carlton Meredith gave out a revised police budget stating that there was a$25,000 mor and explained it should <br /> have been a negative number,theirerfore,the overall increase is 3.5%and salary increase of.2%. <br />
