MAMPEE DANCE COMMITTEE BUTES TUESDAY,JUDY 10,2001 Present: Chairman Jeff Amold Dean Arden,Maryanne Gibbs,Lathy synch,Carlton I1 ere ifli,Jim Morgan Absent: Fred Blythe Also Present: Deirdre Creelish CALL TO ORDER; The meeting was called to order by Chainnan Jeff Arnold at 7:04 p.m.,at the Mashpee Town Hall,Mecting Room 1, on Tuesday,July 10,200 1. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Carlton Meredith made motion to approve the Minutes of the June 26,2001,Finance Conumttee Meeting, seconded by Dean Arden. Voted- J -Unanimous LETTER TO AC'H'ING IOWN ADMINISTRATOR: Chairman Arnold discussed the letter he sent to the Town Administrator dated June 27, 2001, rates Colleen a Barg 'ring and asking for the schedule of the School, Police and Fire Depa trnent negotiation meetings. In the letter he stated that it was imperative that a member of the finance Comx ittm is present at hese discussions as allowed under the by-laws,Chapter 3 7,paragraph 11. Ms.Mason said she wanted to make sure the Board of Selectmen approved this before she released the schedule. Chairman Arnold asked the Board of Selectmen and they will ask its members what they want to do. Discussion followed whether or not the Finance Committee should contact Town Counsel for legal advice if they get stalemated. It was agreed to wait a week to see if the Board of Selectmen contacts Charman Arnold with a decision, if not, C. Arnold will � contact the Board of Selectmen before going to'Town Counsel. Kathy Lynch asked if in the future the Board of Selectmen could sit down with the finance Committee and departments before contract negotiations begin so they all are on the same page. LETTER TO BOARD OF SELECTMEN: Chaha=Arnold dxscussed the letter sent to the Board of Selernen dated June 27,200 1,regarding tax delinquencies waing that the T'inanee Committee requests the Board of Selectmen to dimes the Tax CollectoarlTreas rer}s wee to publish a list of delinquencies by name,,amount,date of delinquency and the stuns of each within the'limits of Massachusetts feral Laws. Chainnan Arnold said he has had no response as of today and will follow up. ARTICLE To ESTABLISH AN ACCRUED BENEFITS ACCOUNT/AMOUNT PER YEAR— OCTOBE MEETING: Chamirian Amold read the article as follows: "To see if the Town will vote to raise and appropriate or transfer from available funds the sm of 10,000 to the Accrued Benefits Account or take any other action relating thereto." The deadline for articles was Judy 9P and Chairman Arnold submitted the article to the Board of Selectmen but it can be changed before Town Meeting if Committm members wish to do so.
