1MASEE FINANCE COMNUTTEE <br /> MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY,SEPTEMBER 25,2001 <br /> Present: Chainnan Jeff Arnold <br /> Dean Arden,Carlton Meredith,.lames Mores <br /> i <br /> Absent: Fred Blythe,Deirdre Greelisk Kathy Lynch, <br /> Also Present: Il ert Sapers,22 Main Street,Unit 35,Mashp e,MA <br /> 1.„ L'M : <br /> The meeting was called to order by Cha nam Arnold at 7:05 p•m.,at the Mashpee Town Hall,Meeting Room <br /> Q. <br /> APPROVAL of MINUTES: <br /> Carlton Meredith made motion to approve the Minutes of the September 11,2001 Finance Committee Meeting, <br /> seconded by Jing Morn. <br /> Voted—Unardmous <br /> Carlton Meredith made motion to approve the Minutes of the September 24, 2001,Executive Session, seconded <br /> by Jing Morgan. <br /> Voted—Unanimous= -0 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Review of Articles for Discussion at'Town Media.: <br /> Merl Sapers was present at the meeting to discuss Article 6, Senior Center.The Finance Committee members <br /> explained reason for not recommending Article 6 at this time because of budget and they thought since it was <br /> not an cmergeney item it could wait until the May meeting when they will know how much to appropriate. <br /> There is no one on the Committee who is against the Senior Center. They would not be doing the job they were <br /> elected to do if they did not protect finances of the Town. <br /> Mr. Sapers also discussed Article 5,conc riu'ng Computer Software for the Town. The Finance Cottee <br /> members explained that the software is an emergency. The Town cannot sena out tax bills without the new <br /> software. They felt it effected the efficiency of Town goverment. <br /> 2. Brief on Echo Gmw: <br /> Dean Arden attended the presentation of the Echo Croup,a vendor for computer software,and said he was quite <br /> impressed by the Echo Croup. He asked them how they handle multiple accesses and he gave examples. <br /> Chairx�Arnold said that Steve Buss,WS erector,asked for financial statements from Echo. There was a <br /> presentation given by Mums today that was also q t+e impressive. They are the largest supplier of municipal <br /> software in the Mate. Chairman Arnold gave Committee members spreadsheets from Mums on contract pricing <br /> for Mate. One for in-house program and the other for ASF program. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Free Cash Certification: <br /> C ' Arnold announced Certification of Free Crash im the amount of$2,081,199. <br /> FUTURE MEETINGS OF FTNANCE C <br /> The next mfg of the Finance Committee will be held on October 1 ,2001,at 7:00 p.m-,,Mashpee Town <br /> 11. <br />
