MA HPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> JOINT.MEETING WITH BOARD OF SELECTMEN AND <br /> FINANCE COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING <br /> MUNCUTES <br /> TUESDAY,SEPTEMBER 23,2002 <br /> Present; Chairman Carlton Meredith <br /> Terrie Cook,Kathy Lynch,Jaanes Morgan,Fred Blythe,Jeff Arnold <br /> Absent: Dean Arden <br /> CALL TO ORDER: <br /> The Meeting was called to order by Chairman ofthe Board of Selectmen at 6;00 .m.,at the Mashpee <br /> Town Hall,room 1. <br /> The Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee reviewed the following town Meeting Warrant Articles: <br /> Article 2-IIP Budget: <br /> Fire Department Vehicles: <br /> The Finance Committee recommended purchasing a vehicle for the Fire Chief and not the Deputy Fire <br /> Chief and recommended staggering purchase of vehicles. Fire Chief Baker asked the Finance Committee <br /> to reconsider and explained the need for the vehicles. The Selectmen recommended purchasing both <br /> vehicles. <br /> Shellfish Vehicle: <br /> The Finance Committee.recormnended not purchasing a vehicle for the Shellfish Department but <br /> recommended giving them a truck from the DPW rather than having that deponent trade the vehicle. <br /> Discussion followed regarding best way to spend the$30,000. The Selectmen will explore <br /> recommendation of Finance Committee. <br /> Article J-CharterCommission: <br /> The Finance Committee recommended approval of$5,000 rather than the P0,000 asked for in the article. <br /> Dr.Petti handed out a preliminary report regarding the anticipated expenses of the Charter Commission. <br /> Dr.Petti will meet with the Finance Committee to discuss liurthcr. The Selectmen will support the$10,000 <br /> asked for by the Charter Commission. <br /> Article 5-Cemetery.Expense: <br /> The Finance Committee does not recommend funding$10,000 for the Cemetery Expenses Account at this <br /> time. The Finance Committee will sit down with the Cemetery Commission and work out a budget. Also, <br /> they would like to see copy of budget being proposed and would life to revisit for May'Town Meeting. <br /> The meeting with the Board of Selectmen adjourned at 6:40 p.m. <br /> The Finance Committee reconvened,at 6:45 p.m.,at the Mashpee'Town Hall,Room# ,to conduct its <br /> Business Meting. <br /> Present: Chairman Carlton Meredith <br /> Trrie Cook,Kathy Lynch,games Horgan,Fred Blythe,Jeff'Arnold <br /> Absent: Dean Arden <br /> Also Present: Dr.Elizabeth Petti,Chainnan,Charter Commission <br /> George faker,Fire Chief <br />
