MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE <br /> MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY,APRIL 8,2003 <br /> Present: Acting Chairman, Janes Morgan <br /> Frederick Blythe, Jeffrey Arnold, Theresa Cook, Kathleen Lynch <br /> Absent: Carlton Meredith, Dean Arden <br /> CALL TO ORDER: <br /> The meeting was called to order at :00 pin at Mashpee Town Hall, Selectman's Co f. Room <br /> AISIIINISTRATIV N O'UNC MEETS <br /> No new announcements.. <br /> OLD BUSINESSO0; <br /> Request;for transfer offunds receivedftom Town Clerkfor an additional$ 800 for May 10 town <br /> elections and ballot printing costs. <br /> • The original proposal was for the purchase of equipment to support the addition of the 5th <br /> precinct. <br /> • The justification for the request for the transfer of funds from the reserve fund is to cover the <br /> cost for the purchase of tables for the upcoming election. Purchase Order is currently on <br /> hold for 10 tables at a cost of$157.00 each. Terri Cooly and Kathy Lynch concur that there <br /> are an adequate number of tables at the schools that can be utilized for the elee l .' <br /> • Fred Blythe made a motion to disapprove. Motion seconded by Kathy Lynch. <br /> VOTED 3-0; 1-abstination <br /> Requestfor transfer offunds rece ivedftom the.personnel Departmentfor or am additional$100.00 <br /> for the second installment f a longevity payment <br /> Kathy Lynch made a notion t approve. Motion seconded by Terri Cool. <br /> VOTED -0; 1-abstination <br /> Town Warrant Article 17—Retirementenef it <br /> Town .Attorney did not attend May 7, 2003 Town Meeting because of inclement weather. <br /> • Debate needs to be brought back to the Selectman for discussion. <br /> Jim Morgan will request that a Finance Committee Representative be pant of the next <br /> Selectman's Meeting where Town Attorney is present to discuss legality of transfer of <br /> funds to cover the shortfall. <br /> There are currently 34 retirees receiving medical benefits covered at %. This figure does <br /> not include the December retirees. <br />
