MASHPEE FINANCE COMMITTEE MINUTES TUESDAY,APRIL 8,2003 Present: Acting Chairman, Janes Morgan Frederick Blythe, Jeffrey Arnold, Theresa Cook, Kathleen Lynch Absent: Carlton Meredith, Dean Arden CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at :00 pin at Mashpee Town Hall, Selectman's Co f. Room AISIIINISTRATIV N O'UNC MEETS No new announcements.. OLD BUSINESSO0; Request;for transfer offunds receivedftom Town Clerkfor an additional$ 800 for May 10 town elections and ballot printing costs. • The original proposal was for the purchase of equipment to support the addition of the 5th precinct. • The justification for the request for the transfer of funds from the reserve fund is to cover the cost for the purchase of tables for the upcoming election. Purchase Order is currently on hold for 10 tables at a cost of$157.00 each. Terri Cooly and Kathy Lynch concur that there are an adequate number of tables at the schools that can be utilized for the elee l .' • Fred Blythe made a motion to disapprove. Motion seconded by Kathy Lynch. Motion seconded by Terri Cool. VOTED -0; 1-abstination Town Warrant Article 17—Retirementenef it Town .Attorney did not attend May 7, 2003 Town Meeting because of inclement weather. • Debate needs to be brought back to the Selectman for discussion. Jim Morgan will request that a Finance Committee Representative be pant of the next Selectman's Meeting where Town Attorney is present to discuss legality of transfer of funds to cover the shortfall. There are currently 34 retirees receiving medical benefits covered at %. This figure does not include the December retirees.
