Due to <br /> lack of quorum, Chairman an Ji ma noted that no votes would be taken. <br /> OLD/NEW BMJ SINE S S <br /> Budget Recommendation of Town Manager <br /> Committee-received Town Manager's final FY2006 budget recommendation. Chairman <br /> T mina suggested Committee review budgets by department and mark any concerns for <br /> disssiory at a meeting with or . <br /> 'o )n Moderator <br /> Committee did not have any concerns with 'down Manager's budget-recommendation. <br /> Board oSelectmen <br /> a Mr. Avis questioned why the budcret increased 16% over FY05. Ms. Hunter explained that <br /> the majority of the increase is a result of the department's reorganation. She stated that <br /> the Town Manager's salary was added to department, and the Assistant Town Manager <br /> position was eliminated. Ms. Monter noted that these responsibilities will he assumed in her <br /> role as Finance Director. <br /> M Mr. Patrick expressed his concern with another salary increase for Town Manager. Ms. <br /> Hunter confirmed the salary is negotiated. Mr_ Patrick noted the Finance Comm- itt e was <br /> not part of negotiations, suggesting a 24% increase over two years-is unfair to other <br /> departments being cut. He proposed removing $11,000 from salary line. <br /> Committee agreed to discuss further with quorum present. <br /> �- ��Eii i - Co su arsis <br /> a.. Committee did not raise any issues with budget recommendation. <br /> Finance Committee <br /> 0 Ms. Hunter reiterated that increased handing is partly from moving auditor costs from <br /> Accounting to Committee. She suggested placing contract out for bid as fee has increased. <br /> M fir. Patrick asked for further clarification on use of funds in budget. Committee discussed <br /> its use for transfers for unforeseen-expenses. <br /> Eincrtmenl <br /> Committee did not raise anv questions on budget r-ecor endati n. <br /> Cha man Umina noted corresponding decrease in budget from shaming Cost of audit t <br /> Finance Coi=ittee. Ms. Hunter also noted a change due to decrease in sa.laEy expense. <br /> Assessors <br /> Ms. Hunter remarked that the increase is due to contractual, salaries and interim assessment <br /> expenses. <br /> Nis -.
