Mashpee Finance Committee Minutes <br /> December 12, 2006 <br /> Mashpee Town Mall,Room 41 <br /> Meeting called to order at: Chairman Chris Avis called the meeting of the <br /> Finance Committee to order at 6:35 p.m. at the Mashpee Town Hall. <br /> Present: Chris Avis, Chairman; Chuck Ga.sior,vice Chairman; Lynda Carroll; <br /> Ken Patrick; Bob Hutchinson, Sandra Lindsey and Bill Johnson. <br /> Absent; None. <br /> Others: Joyce Mason, Town Manager; Terrie Cook, Selectman; Brian Kerhl, <br /> Reporter,Mashpee Enterprise. <br /> I. Approval of Minutes: Chris Avis moved to approve the Minutes of the <br /> November 12, 2006 Meeting. Chuck Gasior seconded. All were in favor. No <br /> discussion. <br /> 11. Correspondence: <br /> Liaison Updates:. Chris Avis started the meeting With the liaison <br /> updates/budgets. Chris discussed reviewing the budget dates so that additional <br /> meetings could be scheduled in order to move forward. Bill Johnson asked Joyce <br /> Mason n about departments,their expenditures and how that relates to their total <br /> budget. Bill suggested that if they FinCorn) were able to see the budgets over the <br /> last couple years, in addition to the proposed budgets,the Committee would be <br /> able to evaluate importance and issues in the most cost effective way in terms of <br /> their resources. Joyce Mason indicated to Bill that she would be able to provide <br /> budgets presented over the past couple fiscal years. <br /> Bill Johnson reviewed his areas of responsibility, one being the Selectmen's <br /> Department. It was noted that the total amount in the budget this year is about <br /> Five Hundred Thirty Eight Thousand $53 ,000. Dollars, of which Three <br /> Hundred and Three $ o ,00.00 Dollars is salary. The potential issue is that the <br /> contract is up in.Tune, and Bill asked Joyce how that is reflected in the budget. <br /> The other major expenses were for legal services, due to the Tribal issues that the <br /> Town is involved in. Also,this is the year of contract negotiations. Originally the <br /> budget was One Hundred Sixty Thousand($160,000.00)Dollars,but there was a <br />
