Mashpee Finance Committee Minutes <br /> May 7,2007 <br /> Mashpee High School <br /> Town Meeting <br /> Meefing called to order: Chris Avis called the Finance Committee to order at 6:15 p.m.. at the <br /> Mashpee High School. <br /> Present: Chris Avis, Chairman; Chuck Gasior, vice Chairman; Sandra Lindsey; Bob <br /> Hutchinson; Bill Johnson, and Lynda Carroll arrival at 6:25 p.m. <br /> Absent: None. <br /> Others: Greg Taylor, D.P. V.;Jeremy Carter, Moderator(arrival at 6;28 p.m. <br /> 11 Approval of Minutes: None. <br /> II. Com ondence: Proposal from Sandra Lindsey dated May 7, 2007. <br /> 111. Requests for'yarn f r: Greg Taylor, D.P.W., addressed the Cottee with <br /> regard to a request in the arnount of Nine Thousand Twee Hundred($9,300.00)Dollars <br /> and 100 for beach nourishment. <br /> Severe storms have caused beach erosion. Mr. Taylor noted that beach nourishment is not <br /> allowed between April 15th and Octoberl 5th. Mr. Taylor is confident that work done <br /> ding this time will have no effect on Piping Plover,and has continuously requested that <br /> Cape Beach be taken off the "protected list'(due to-evidence of no habitat). Chris Avis <br /> inquired if them was any possibility of increasing the size of the beach by pumping in <br /> sand. It was confmned by Mr. Taylor that this is seriously being considered, <br /> total of Forty Thousand Two Hundred Eighty-Six Dollars($40,286.00)on Cape Beach <br /> has been expended. One Thousand 1000)tons of sand has been requested(which is <br /> equivalent to Seven.Hundred and fifty(750) yards). The sand is Nine Dollars($9,30) <br /> and 301100 per ton, for a tom of Nine Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($3,300.00)and <br /> 00/100. Mr. Taylor confirmed for Bill Johnson that the sand is from Cape Cod <br /> Aggregate. <br /> Chuck Gasior moved to aiDorove the transfer to DPW in the amount of line <br /> Thousand Three Hundred Dollars and oo 10 oo.00 Bob Hutchinson <br /> seconded. All were in favor. <br /> Iv. old Business. Bob Hutchinson discussed that he has seen reference to the three <br /> (3) year fiscal plan. Bob believes that the Town is to to three 2 to 3 years away from <br /> an override. <br /> 1 <br />
