Chris Avis <br /> would like to give a potential second candidate an opportunity to 'Interview well, as this <br /> second candidate was not present at the meeting. <br /> v.old Business: Status of discussions with water District. vice Chairman Gasior initiated <br /> discussion on an Inter-municipal Agreement that the Board of Selectmen signed with the <br /> Water District relative to the collection of fees. There is a 3 year schedule of payments that <br /> will be made. Joyce Mason stated it was discovered through the efforts of the Finance <br /> Committee that a stipend was being received by the Board of Assessors and Tax Collectors. <br /> All fees will now cone through the Town, and stipends have been discontinued. <br /> Vice Chairman Gasior also reviewed a report from the Board of Assessors which breaks <br /> down tax rate according to the functions of the different Town Governments. Chris Avis <br /> inquired if comparison of tax bills has been gene with other Towns, Bill Johnson prefers <br /> "simplified" tax information. <br /> There has been a Renewal ofTransfer Station Contract I year). Ms. Mason acknowledged a n'sk riskwas taken to lock in the fuel rates, but <br /> also confirmed a savings is recognized. <br /> Vice Chairman Gasior discussed an opinion Ter from Town Atty. relative to School <br /> Committee's budget submission_ School Committee should comply with Charter's time <br /> frames and format.Ed Larkin commented there is state law requiring School to hold <br /> hearing regarding their budget, and feels that unless the School complies with this law, their <br /> budget is null and void. <br /> Wastewater Advisory Committee. -Oskar Klenert is the liaison from the Finance Committee <br /> and still deeply involved with this matter. <br /> Water District. Bill Johnson connnented that his most recent meetings were forthcoming, and <br /> believes that there are other non-financial questions for the Commission.
