Oskar <br /> Klenert accepted the nomination. <br /> b, vice Chairman- Chris Avis moved to elect Chuck Gasior as vice Chairman of the <br /> Finance Committee, Bill Johnson seconded. A11 were in favor. vice Chairman Gasior <br /> acce ted the nomination. <br /> { <br /> c. Clerk- din Johnson moved to elect GeoKye Schmidt as Clerk of the Finance <br /> Committee. vice Chairman Chuck Gasior seconded. All were'ice favor. Geo e ' <br /> Schmidt_accepted the nomination. <br /> Potential candidate Joseph McDonald was introduced and provided a background. Chris Avis <br /> would like to give a potential second candidate an opportunity to intemew as well, as this <br /> second candidate was not present at the meeting. <br /> v.old Business: Status of discussions with Water District. vice Chan Gasior initiated <br /> discussion on an Inter-municipal Agreement that the Board of Selectmen signed With the <br /> Water District relative to the collection of fees. There is a 3 year schedule of payments that <br /> will be made. Joke Mason stated it was discovered through the efforts of the Finance <br /> Committee that a stipend was being received by the Board of Assessors and Tax Collectors. <br /> All fees will now come through the Ton, andspends have been discontinued. <br /> Nice Chairman Gasior also reviewed a report from the Board of Assessors which breaks <br /> down tax rate according to the functions of the different'Town Governments. Chris Avis <br /> inquired if comparison of tax bills has been done with other'Towns. Bill Johnson prefers <br /> "simplified" tax information. <br /> There has been a Renewal of Transfer Station Contract 1 year). Where was discussion on <br /> costs to transport containers to their disposal sites. SEMASS is $275.00 per truck to travel to <br /> Avon. Single Source recycling is $490.00 for two loads. <br /> Fuel depot is available and gas is bid out, eliminating m6st ofthe taxes. Fuel is$2.39/gallon, <br /> and diesel is $2.69. Ms. Masan acknowledged a risk was taken to lock the fuel rates, but <br /> also confirmed a savings is recognized. <br /> Nice Chairman Gasior discussed an opinion letter from Town Atty. relative to School <br /> Committee's budget submission. School Committee should comply with Charter's time <br /> frames and format. Ed Larkin commented that there is state law requiring School to hold a <br /> hearing regarding their budget, and feels that unless the School complies with this lave, their <br /> budget 'is null and void. <br /> Wastewater Advisory Committee. Oskar Klenert is the liaison from the Finance Committee <br /> and still deeply involved with this matter. <br /> i <br /> Water District. Bill Johnson commented that his most recent meetings were forthcoming, and <br /> believes that there are other non-financial questions for the Commission. one question is the <br /> "a mount of tax rate which goes to water district" and"what is that money used for"? <br /> 8115!2010 2 <br />
