Y (NEWBUSINESS, CONT'D) • Liaison Assignments/ Reports 1. The committee members revised liaison assignments for 2012, and will finalize,assignments after new committee appointm.ents. 2. Joyce Marson commented on David Leary's resignation ars Treasurer: stating than Mr. Leary was hired on ar part time basis in-order to tare advantage of health insurance savings. The department is in very good shape but now therels a need for a fulltime hands-on staff person. ibis. Mason stated that there will be ars audit at the time of Mr. Leary's departure, but no problems are anticipated. Ms. Mason added that the Town regrets Mr. Leary's-departure. 3, Joyce Mason reported that the Board of Selectmen, t their Sept. 1oto` meeting, are scheduled to decide whether to reconsider the-return to the school Committee the $300,000-plus funds that were turned back to the Town at the end of the 2012 school year. George Schmidt reported than at the last School Committee meeting, it was reported that the B s had voted to postpone the decision on return of the 300,00 +plus funds until their meeting on Sept. 10th. . DPW Liaison Report. Chris Avis reported that Joyce Mason,' Rodney Collins and Catherine Laurent met last evening. Catherine Laurent has been wording with Cape Light Compact and reported that they arra going to.be putting out an I ,FP next N ay for free installation of all LECA street lights in the Town of Mashpee. Chris Avis started than there will be a test area of the LECA lights installed on Fit. 151 from Frank Hicks s Drive down to Old Barnstable Road.d. Joyce Mason distributed a FY 2012 End of Year Report and ar Revenue Analysis for Fly 2012. • Review of October Town Meeting Warrant Articles - Joyce Mason reviewed fo,r the Committee the 19 proposed articles for the October Annual Town 1 Meeting. Representatives from the Library Trustees w i I I be invited to attend the September 4 th 2012 Finance Committee meeting to present their case for creation and funding of two new pant- time Circulation Assistant positions (each.19 hours per week) for the Mash pee Public Library effective 1-1/01/12. - Torn Mayo presented ar detailed description of the article to see if the Town will vote to approve the Economic Development Plan as prepared by the Ec' homio Development Industrial Corporation (ERIC). This article seeks to approve ars economic development plan.that provides the framework for disposition of real property owned by the Il ashp a ECT. The EDICxs enabling legislation requires that an economic development plarn'be drafted'and approved by a 2 vote of Town Meeting.
