Fire Station Building Committee <br /> minutes <br /> May 3, 1999 <br /> Present: Joyce Mason, George Baker,Dr. Elizabeth Petti,George tae nia , <br /> Peter Thomas,Joseph Peltier <br /> Guests: Sheldon Hamblin—deputy Fire Chief <br /> Janes May—Wallace, Floyd,Associates,Inc. <br /> Marc Pittsley—Wallace,Floyd, Associates,free. <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Mason at 5;15 p.m. <br />' Quashnet Valley School, Conference Room#I. <br /> NUN=& <br /> Tuesday, Aril 20,J999: <br /> Motion made by Mr. Baker to approve the minutes of Tuesday, <br /> April 20, 1999 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Mr. Peltier. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Mr.Weznl*ak abstained. <br /> REPORT OF THE ARCHITECT: <br /> The Fire Station Building Committee met with the Project Architect prior <br /> o the Annual Town Meeting to discuss the outline of their presentation <br /> proposal for the Mashpee Fire &Rescue Station project. <br /> The arcle for the repair and renovation of the Town's Central Fire Station <br /> is reflected as Article of the Special Torn Meeting warrant. The <br /> requested appropriation is$2,403,530 for said purpose. The project will <br /> be bonded over a period of fifteen years at an estimated interest rate of <br /> %. The impact in fiscal year 20 00 is$0.22 on the tax rate or$31.22 per <br /> median borne valued at$142,500. <br /> The Committee prepared an information pamphlet relative to the <br /> renovation project to enhance voter awareness of the subject proposal, <br /> Janes May,Project Architect presented a schematic layout for the new <br /> Fire Station that has incorporated changes recommended by the Fire <br /> Chief Mr. Baker indicated that the schematic has addressed most of the <br /> design challenges. The flow of the floor plan as depleted will meet the <br /> needs of the department in an effective operational manner. <br />
