2 <br /> Fire Station Building Committee <br /> Minutes <br /> July 15, 1999 <br /> REPORT OF THE ARCHITECT: <br /> James May indicated that he is pleased with the architectural layout as <br /> configured in the design schematic dated July 15, 1999. . <br /> The EMT/Decontamination area was reconfigured to incorporate four <br /> additional turn-out-gear lockers, a total of forty-four units. The architect <br /> will determine the applicable size of the washer extractor unit to be <br /> installed in the decontamination area. <br /> The schematic as presented depicted window locations and furrshing to <br /> describe the size and character of the project. Additional revisions include <br /> the placement of the unisex restroom on the first floor, and a separate male <br /> and female facility on the second floor. The training room as outlined for <br /> thirty-two spaces will have easy access to the restroom facilities. <br /> small shed dormer-as incorporated into the design of the roof plan to <br /> allow for adequate ventilation. The shed dormer is located in the area of <br /> the proposed elevator. <br /> Specifications relative to the operation of the overhead doors located in <br /> the new apparatus bays were-discussed. A clearance height of 13'4"'was <br /> considered. The issue will be further defined. <br /> The Committee agreed to furnish to the Architect,information relative to <br /> Town specification requirements and existing site utilities for additional <br /> review. The design/construction.schedule as presented is aggressive and <br /> remains on track as outlined. <br /> The Architect was directed to move forward to obtain geo- ec .nical and <br /> additional site engineering survey work. Four boring locations are <br /> expected to be tested. All expenses relative to this type of work are <br /> considered reimbursable expense items. <br />
