Fire Station Building Committee
Minutes
August 31, 2000
Page 2, Paragraph 4:
George Baker: Will we get a stamped document by a registered engineer?
A new document, sketches?
Len Bertaux: Permit drawings are the only documents that need to be stamped.
From a procedural standpoint, it is not required.
George Baker: With correction to major issues...to get proof that all meets the
standard of code of issue..
Len Bertaux: The Town is fully protected by the architect's insurance carrier by
anything that would happen.
Page 2, Paragraph 5:
Len Bertaux: There is no question that there are financial repercussions from the
work. It is obvious the general contractor is far behind in terms of
his schedule...he will have a good argument, has had relief...no
large schedule impact that he can claim as ammunition.
Page 2, Paragraph 6:
Len Bertaux: ...premiums for work done as a result of a change order, additional
costs, liabilities to be addressed by the insurance liability writers,
additional materials to properly construct the building...delay costs
may accrue. The Town should not have to pay any additional
expense other than additional material that may accrue. (designers
assumption)...The time delay aspect will be the most difficult
issue to sort out.
