r i Fire Station Building Committee lintites January 4, 2001 PROJECT OVERVIEW: Approval of leameat a uisition: Atlas van L' - 2: State vendor quote obtained to move items from administrative wing to newly constructed building. Two days labor to include boxes. Designated contingency fund appropriation. Motion made by Mr. Stone to approve the payment requisition of, Atlas van Dines in the amount o $4,992 as presented. Motion seconded by Mr. Weial.. VOTE: Unanimous. Other Business: The General Contractor has requested permission to conduct roof work on Sundays . The Committee supported the request with the stipulation that no overtime or prerm"urn fees would be associated to any Sunday wort activities. It is also necessary for the contractor to obtain permission from _ the Police Chief to work on Sundays. The Clerk of worts did not voice objection to the proposal, arta agreed to further review the legality of this matter on behalf of the Committee. The Cleric of the worts indicated that the surplus generator would have the ability to supply emergency power to the Town Hall facility. The Committee applauded the efforts of the Department of public Works for site paving and grading wort . It was noted that the DPW would also assist with site trenching activities. These type of functions result in a cost savings to the Town and to the budget of the renovation construction project. Three quotes will be secured for the purchase of a washer/extractor. Funds for the heavy-duty washer forprotective clothing will derive from the contingency fund. The Committee will select the color scheme for the countertops and identify signage site locations at the next scheduled meeting. Town'Counsel will be requested to attend the next project meeting to document issues of negligence.
