Library Trustees August page 2 3. The Friends , through the courtesy of the immediate past 'presi-dent , Samuel. Re , received an American Flag which has been flown over the Capitol. . in Washington , D. C. This was presented to the Trustees for ' the library . it was voted to send a note of thanks and appreciation to the - Friends ,. . -Building. Committee : Ainsley Rockwood , a 'ru tee , may attend the meetings of the Building Committee as an observer. - Five 5 Trustees are presently serving . on the c o mm i t t e The Chairman of the Building Committee at a committee meeting had raised the matter of Trustee participation and assistance with funds for the new library . The Trustees are not able to participate in such ac ivity . (Refer to the Trustees Handbook of the Mass . Library Association. ) Iv Correspondence - Dane V Old Business A. Painting` f he library i hs will. be completed b a t g August 1 . B . The water pump problem has been resolved . C. There was agreement that the- summer volun.teers ought to tae r'eco ni. ed i'n some manner before LABOR Day ; and that the year-round volunteers ought to be similarly recognized but at a later date. Diane Kingsley will find out when they will be leaving, and the Chairman, will telephone poll the Trustees to determine appropriate action . VI New Business Arnold Swenson indicated that because of his plans -for an operation and subsequent r covery he would not be able to attend meetings and asked to be relieved of his Trustee duties .
