Librarian: Librarian' s report was accepted as presented, <br /> Be Friends: Mrs* Fordham reported that the Friends will hold <br /> meeting on November 25th. There will be a program by <br /> member of the staff of the Thornton Burgess society& <br /> The Friends will staff a table at the Mashpee commons during <br /> the tree trimming festivities. Books will be sola, and the <br /> Silent Auction will be conducted. Tote bags will be w <br /> available at the open douse of the new library, <br /> C. Building Committee : The new building construction appears <br /> x <br /> to be on or possibly ahead of schedule. <br /> The building committee approved the color scheme that had <br /> been selected by the sub-committee on furnishings and the <br /> trustees* <br /> Do Sub-Committeeon ' rnishin Bids for furnishings have <br /> been pulbihed. Five bid packages have been sent out. <br /> The committee has been considering various types of kitchen <br /> cabinets. They have selected from samples of plastic - <br /> laminate <br /> lastic - <br /> l.ami .te for the counters , also floor tiles, bulletin boards, <br /> and colors for the folding doors. <br /> Iv Unfinished Business <br /> The grant for th-e Micro crpur has been approved for $4, 650 <br /> which was more than requested, however all qualified libraries <br /> in Eastern' Massachusetts received the same amount. Any overage <br /> may be s Dent for other equipment providing this occurs between <br /> December 1 , 1986 and June 1 , 1987. <br /> IBM sent a letter listing equipment at 30% disc unt. However, <br /> we may be able to get it locally at a similar cost. In using <br /> specific IBM equipment it right be advantageous to have a <br /> supplier nearby. The librarian will check and compare* The first <br /> introductory workshop will be held in Plymouth with three <br /> meetings to follow. <br /> S <br /> V New Business <br /> The state incentive grant was $1850 plus $ municipal <br /> equalization grant, totaling $2196.31 . <br /> The preliminary budget is due Wednesday, November ,19the <br /> Mr. Murphy will do the operational gadget.
