BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES MONTHLY MEETING LARCH 26 , 1996 P. M. I PRESENT: ANTON BU CHENFELDT HELENE DEFOE, LIBRARY DIRECTOR i ISI I MARSH GLORIA SELANDER II MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING: Since there was no quorum present, the meeting will pass on February' s minutes until the next meeting in which there will be a quorum present, III REPORTS: Librarian Helene De `oe reported that circulation for the month of February was over 6 ,000 -items; 173 items more than last February. Friends: Since Terri Horde was not present, there were n figures reported. IV COMMUNICATIONS: A. Information relative to the policy for determining a NEAR waver for certification for state libraries for next year. ' The policy appeared to be similar to pre- vious policy as far as budget amount, etc. ' This did not apply to Mashpee. Also Listed were the libraries which were certified in the state for fiscal 196 . The Mashpee Library was named on that list. Also listed were sixteen uncertified libraries because they did not meet standards . ' The only library close t Mashpee was Dennis. It is l ashpe.e I s- policy that we -d not provide services to residents of non-certified towns. B. Letter from the Board of Library .Commi.ssioners relative to the Strategic State Plan which indicated they were looking for letters of sport for the three-year phased in approach. V OLD BUSINESS; A. Mimi Marsh reported that* the l ashpee Library hard been waiting far the new video shelves . . Helene explained that they had been told when ordering that the waiting period would be eight to ten weeks' due to the fact that they were a custom order and a custom color.
