L Corrections to minutes of October 8, 1996: Page 1, Report of the library director, line 3, change the word "rescheduled" t "sheduled". The minutes were then accepted as corrected, III REPORTS: A. Librarian: Helene Defoe reported that the figures 'reported to her by the CLAMS office showed 7,470 items circulated in October 1996. Follow- ing ollow- i g that, Helene received a message from. the CLAMS office indicating there were some problems with the, figures which had been reported to the li- braries. Helene will report on the breakdown by materials when she learns-more of the deta:l.s of this problem. i The number of new patrons registered for the month was 68. During the month,_ the l ibraty .borrowed 170 items Brom other libraries for their p tr'' ns and made 107 loans to patrons of other 'libraries. Patron visits for the month totalled 5,239 for October. Helene reported that the preschool story-time concluded on November 4th. The series had 20 children registered and most weeks 1.2-I4 children at- tended. The series was very well received and they have begun regis- trations for the next series beginning January 6, 1997 Pines for the month totalled` $419.49. year-to-date, $2,1.47.86 has been turned over to the treasurer's office. E. Friends of the- Library: The Friends book sale brought in $88.00. The Friends program will feature an author speaking about the Wampanoags. Iv CONMUNICATIONS A.
