3
a
w
BOARD of LIBRARY TRUSTEES
5/13/97
PAGE Two
Discussion on Library Legislation Day: (Cont'd) Helene continued that
Lt. Governor Salucci was present, and he seemed pretty supportive of the
libraries. (Mrs. Salucci is a, school librarian.) It is interesting that
he will probably end up as Governor of Massachusettes. It appears that
the libraries will have a friend in the Executive Office, There is lots
of support for the technology programs, but the capital could still use
a push.
V, NEW BUSINESS*
A. Mimi Marsh stated that she was sure that Dick Shaughnessy would be
missed. The trustees were thinking about some sort of gift' and cele
-
bration. one of the ideas that had been presented was to plant aux
ornamental tree with a brass placque affixed. Mini delegated this
project to Anton and Mrs. Buscbenfeldt, who had suggested the tree
idea. A coffee with the, trustees in conjunction with the tree planting
was suggested. Gloria Selander suggested that the library's tenth
anniversary world be sometime -in June, and she thought we could work
something around that.
B. vacation request for Sandy: ' Sandy would like to take three-weeks
vacation in March 1998. She has an opportunity to take an art course
which includes a three-week trip to Italy. She has been told that she
may get some financial assistance with this. In Helene's opinion.,
this would be at a time of the year when the library should not be
exceptionally busy.Sandy would not be paid for the additional two weeks,
but Helene felt they would probably need her to fill in other times
f the year to make up those hours.
M. Marsh stated that if this could be arranged, the Board of 'trustees
had no objection to it,
C. Gape Cod Library Club: The spring meeting of the Cape God Library Club,
8:30 a. m, will be on Tuesday, May 24th at Gape Cod Community College.
Mimi Marsh asked the board for permission to close the library that day
so that all employees would be able to attend.
Moria Selander mored that the library close so that the employees
would be able to attend the Cape God Library Club Spring Meting.
Anton seconded. All in favor. So moved.
D. Mi Marsh announced that on Saturday, June 7th here would be an
Internet Policies workshop which will b held at The Brewster Ladies
Library. Program from 10:00 - 12:30; Coffee, etc, 9:30 a. m. All
library trustees and directors are invited to attend.
Muni Marsh let it be known that at the end of June, her chairmanship
will come to an end. She suggested that the trustees might like to
give some thought to whom they would like to see sitting in that chair.
Discussion at the next meeting, on Wednesday, June 1 , 1997
y
4
