Library Director : The library director ' s report was passed out to the meeting . IV BUDGET Fiscal Year ' 99 budget request : $204 , 784 . Helene explained there was a $6 , 000 grant available - for child- rents gnat r ial,s . They needed to submit an action plan to the State to update their long range plan, and it had to be sub-- mit.t d by January 5th if they wanted to apply for the $6, 000 grant . There will be a training session later this month on the grant applicatio-n. Helene will go for that . Helene will subunit , and hopefully , receive. This is the first step . IP Construction Monies : Helene explained that the Capital. Improvement Committee meets on Tuesday afternoons at 3 : 30 p . m. Helene was. the first to make her presentation . ,Jim Dong com- pl mented her on a great presentation. . Helene had a discussion with the town accountant who explained that the library had some monies left from the construction fund . She indicated the library night be asked to . giro part of haat fund towards the study. Helene felt that this would be raised at a f-uture meeting. Discussion relative to the construction fund . The trustees agreed that they should contribute some of the monies towards the study. .V NEW BUSINESS ; is h ee Commons Consultant : Helene explained that I a hpee Commons had hired a consultant -to discuss with all of the torn departments their future expansion plans and how they might im. pact future departments . Bob Whritenour brought this up at the department head meeting* He had no knowledge of what questions the consu.l.tant was planning to. ask. He suggested that if there were questions that we could not answer , just explain that your .needed more information* At this point , we do not know what they plan to build in I ashpce Commons . If they should plan to add more housing , it will impact on the library. The addition that is planned is based upon the population projection esti- mated ti- mated by the Planning Dept . It certainly did not include 400 additional housing units in Ma hpee . Grant :Writer - Discussion: Helene explained there was nothing new on that .
