Date: November 1, 1999 <br /> To: Helene DeFoe <br /> From: Janet Burke <br /> Re: Monthly Report <br /> The month of October was busy in the Children's Room as the fall schedule for <br /> storytime and first grade field trips commenced. <br /> Family Storytime was held on Oct. 2"d with an attendance of 15. <br /> Family Storytime was also held on Oct. 9th as part of the Octoberfest. The attendance <br /> at Mashpee Commons was 48 and approximately 50 children participated in the craft <br /> activity of rock painting. <br /> I did an outreach program for Head Start on Oct.5'h. The teachers and 16 children <br /> enjoyed stories. Since then, one of the teachers has been into the library to obtain her <br /> teacher's library card and they have also scheduled a field trip for November. <br /> The Kids Klub Preschool visited the library on Oct. 6`h. 26 children enjoyed the <br /> storytime. <br /> On Oct 8`h I visited two elementary schools and visited 6 first grade classrooms. I <br /> distributed library card applications to approximately 150 students in anticipation of <br /> future field trips. <br /> The following first grade classes visited the library in October: <br /> Oct. 13`h Miss Russell's Class 20 students <br /> Oct. 25`h Mrs. Rafferty's Class 18 students <br /> Oct. 27`h Mrs. Connor's Class 22 students <br /> (2 classes rescheduled for November due to rain) <br /> On Oct. 15`h Helene and I presented our mini grant project for the Massachusetts <br /> Board of Library Commissioners at the Weston Public Library. We also toured the <br /> following libraries and took photographs of their children's rooms: Weston, Waltham, <br /> Newton and Duxbury. <br /> Toddle Time and Preschool Story Hour both began in mid-October: <br /> Oct. 18`h Toddle Time 19 children+ adults <br /> Oct. 18`h Preschool Story Hour 10 children+adults <br /> Oct. 25`h Toddle Time 21 children+ adults <br /> Oct. 25`h Preschool Story Hour 15 children+ adults <br /> The monthly storytime for Day Care Providers was held on Oct. 27`h with an <br /> Iattendance of 10. <br />
