Library Director <br /> David wanted to acknowledge for the recd , relative to Helene <br /> eFoe, in addition to our being 6verwork.ed and understaffed ire <br /> the Mashpee Library , and applying for grants , and a whole host <br /> of other things , it was "as cold as a- well-d igger ' s neck in <br /> Idaho"in here, adverse conditions ; they were . ma ing do with space- <br /> heaters , etc. . David thanked Helene for doing that , above and beond . <br /> H,elen.e explained that the staff had to go home; it was only she <br /> who remained in the library. <br /> i Helene explained that she was not anticipating that the furnace <br /> repair would core out of her budget ; she was expecting that <br /> it would be something out of Town Fall . <br /> Helene reported that they were also experiencing staff shortages . <br /> Marge , one of the library employees has been out with ghat has <br /> been tentatively diagnosed as a pinched nerve. Awaiting the re- <br /> sults of ars MRI , Helene explained that if Marge ' s absence should <br /> o on much long r , she would speak to the Personnel Dept , to de- <br /> termine if there were any prospects of getting some tempora-ry <br /> help . <br /> David offered to donate a couple of half days if it would help <br /> Helene. <br /> The other job Helene had planned on working on last week was <br /> preparation of the budget . Helene e pla-fined that the budget <br /> would not be very different from. the budget last year . The bud- <br /> CD <br /> get message that Bob Whritenour sent out was , that this was go� <br /> ing to be a very uncertain year revenue-wise. They are uncertain <br /> what they will receive in State aid . They are predicting -a very <br /> tight budget ,, and the various departments have been asked to keep <br /> as close to level-funding a poss�.ble. <br />
