Date: January 1, 2001 To: Helene Foe From- Janet Burke Re: Monthly Report The month of December began with Family Story-time held on Dec. 2 nd, There were participants for the holiday theme stories. Two programs were held this month for the children who attend the Kids Klub After School Program. on Dec. 4hthe Kids Klub grades 3 - 6 visited the library. 23 children had tour and book talk program. on Dec. 12'' I visited the Kids Klub grades K-2 and provided a storytirne for 19 children. The Kids Klub Preschool was scheduled to come to the library this month but had transportation trouble. Therefore, I took stor mime to the 21 preschoolers on Dec. 13 . On Dec. 12"'1 attended a committee meeting for the Capewide Family Literacy Event which was h ld in November.r. The event was very successful and we are planning to hold it again in No giber 2001. The Children's Librarians Roundtable Meeting was held in Eastham on Dec. 15th. The agenda included an update on the Capewide Fanuly Literacy Event, committee reports, a discussion of teacher card policies, and information from Katie Baxter, Unfortunately, this month Diana Lincoln resigned as the Early Childhood Specialist for Ma.shpe . Interviews were held on Dec. 21" to hire her replacement. The interviews were conducted by Robin Nickerson, Coordinator of the Upper Cape Family Network, randa Swain, Coordinator of the Falmouth Community Partnership and myself. W decided to bire l orina Reif who evil l cone on board in the beginning of January. The After School Graft Club, part of the Connecting Cultures Grant Project, continued this month. The 12 children are making their own Mata under the guidance of art teacher, Chris Jacobi, W met on Dec. 13"'and 20 . We were unable to meet the first week of December because of the problem with the library's heat and we decided not to meet during vacation week. Therefore, the program will continue in January until the project is complete. i r
