DeFoe From: Janet Barre Re: Monthly Report The Statewide Summer Library Adventure, Explore other worlds @ your library continued through the month of August with a total registration of2o participants. As art ofthe Summer Reading Program, I have offered a Weekly Trivia Contest. The veer each week receives an Explore Other worlds @ your-librar T-shirt. we have had the following participation for the T via Contest: August 7 29 entries August 14 entries The Mashpee Cultural Council sponsored a special event this month as part of the Sumner LibraryAdventure. Henrye Juggler performed on August d. There were 4 m`y people who enjoyed the performance and a juggling workshop. Family Storytime was held on August �h. There were 19 participants who enjoyed the theme of Lobster Tales, The 4-H Coastal Explorer, a mobile marine science exhibit, was at the library on August . The Friends of the Library sponsored this event which was visited by 142 patrons. The grand finale of the Summer' ixi Program, our annual Ice Cream Social, was held on August 17'h. There were 7 participants who enjoyed nye-your-own sundaes, balloon animals and tattoos. On August 21 the librar hosted a live performance of the classic fairy tale, "The Fisherman and His wife". The Cape Cod Conservatory Acting Class, icludmng Jacek Zuansi Norina Leif, and Nannette Oldenbourg, presented this program free of charge to the library. It was a successful performance with 60 people attendance. I attended a workshop s on August 25hregarding the town's new web site.
