Ann called the meeting to order at
6:35 p.m.
Angroval of Minutes
Dianna motioned to accept the Minutes of the Meeting held April 19,2005 as Witten; leather seconded the motion and
it was unanimously approved.
mor"s Report T
Helene ne distriburted a copy of the CLAIMS April circulation report and her monthly report for April, both of which were
reviewed and discussed. Highlights of the discussion included the following:
In discussing the circulation figures, Helene mentioned to the Trustees that this report shows the circulation
year-to-date figure for April-2005 was 1.00,465;that for the same period last year the figure was 901,084 ... the
Library at that time was closed on Friday; and that the year before that(2003)the figure was 95,850.
SEMLS changing their system of ILL by cropping Falmouth Library as a contracted provider of ILL services.
All requests will go to Quincy Library as of June 1, 2005. we wiH have to get used to doing things differently
because Quincy uses different software from CLAMS. Helene estimates that only about 1 of our requests are
used through this service.
Staff meeting at end of April had good results. For example, more efficient handling of overdue
notices; phone being picked up in the back if not answered in 3 rings by the desk; effort being made to
e-mail notifications(which has been well received by patrons);-and Museum pass reservation system
was cleaned up to improve efficiency.
Copies of Helene's monthly report and the April CLAMS report are attached to the printed set of these mutes.
Janet Burke's report for the month of April was distributed to the Trustees and it was reviewed and discussed. Copy of
Janet's report is attached to the printed set of these minutes.
Fundra in
Following topics were discussed:
• Helene advised that someone carne to the Library and asked about possibility of selling entertaiment books as a
means of raising money. Helene will pass this along to David.
• Plymouth Library holds a yearly yard sale. Helene will pass the flyer along to David.
• Suggestion was made that perhaps one of the things that could be done would be to lease out space to others to
sell items and Friends could hold a book sale at the same time, along with perhaps a"bake sale".
• feather suggested that maybe we could do a"stroller walk"getting families involved and have pledges.
Heather will e-mail this suggestion to Melinda Gallant.
