BOARD of LIBRARY TRUSTEES <br /> REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING <br /> TUESDAY,XUY 129 2005 <br /> MASHPEE LIBRARY <br /> Present: David Burton, Carlo D"Este,,Dianna Snaith, Ann MacDonald-Dailey, Feather Lal atos,Nancy <br /> Soderberg{arrived 6:55 p.m.), and Helene DeFoe, Library Director. <br /> Absent: Nancy Stafford. <br /> Chairman David Burton called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Ann motioned to accept the Minutes of the Meeting held May 12,, 2005 as Witten;Dianna seconded the <br /> motion and it was approved by Ann,Heather, and Dianna, with David and Carlo abstaining. Nancy Soderberg <br /> had not yet arrived at the meeting. <br /> Dianna motioned to accept the Mnut s of the Meting held June 14,2005 as written, Carlo seconded the <br /> motion and it was approved by David, Carlo and Dianna, with Ann and Feather abstaining. Nancy Soderberg <br /> had not yet arrived at the' eeting. <br /> Construction Grant/Fundraising <br /> David commented about the 2.5 Million-Dollar LBC Grant and applauded the efforts of all who worked so <br /> hard to achieve this success. Y <br /> David then noted that the next chore ahead will be to raise funds to be able to authorize our architect to design <br /> the building. It is estimated this will cost approximately$200,000. <br /> David advised that in two weeks Melinda Gallant and Shelley Gilbert will be making a presentation to the <br /> Board of Selectmen to give them a status update. Sheller will also be requesting authorization to use the <br /> remaining$93,000 from the previous appropriation and put that towards design costs. <br /> David also advised that Melinda will stay on through Labor Day at her current rate. The Friends are satisfied <br /> with Melinda"s efforts to date and the foundation she is preparing for fundraising efforts. <br /> Kresge rant } <br /> The application for$95,000 grant has been seat in. There is a 90-day turnaround on this grant so we should <br /> probably hear the outcome by Fall-2005. If successful in getting this grant, we mill have the fiat"'green" <br /> library on Cape. <br />
