BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES <br /> TS <br /> REGULAR MONTHLY SETING <br /> TUESDAY,FEBRUARY 1 ,2006 <br /> MASHMASHPEE LIBRARY <br /> -Present: David Burton, Carlo D"Este,, Ann MacDonald-Dailey, Nancy Stafford,Nancy Soderberg,Dianna Smit, <br /> Feather Lakatos, and Helene DeFoe, Library Director. <br /> Chairman David Burton called the meeting to order at :40 p.m. <br /> Approval of Minute <br /> Dianna Smith motioned to accept the minutes of January 17,2006;Nancy Soderberg seconded this motion;and all <br /> Trustees voted to pass the motion,with the exception of Heather Lakatos who abstained. <br /> Reports <br /> Helene submitted the CLAMS circulation report for January and noted that Mashpee passed Bourne in year-to-date <br /> transactions, which moves Mashpee up to position 5. Helene also distributed her report for January, which was <br /> reviewed acid discussed in detail. Helene mentioned that starting 2 weeks ago she is now able to do payroll from her <br /> desk; otherwise she used to make two trips to Town Hall. Helene-mentioned the budget is also done in MUMS <br /> software. In addition,the installation of the wireless network should make it easier if patrons have their town laptop <br /> equipment and use it at the library and free up the computers for those who don't have laptops. Copies of Helene's <br /> reports are attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> Helene then distributed Janet Burke's monthly reports for December and January,which were reviewed and discussed. <br /> Copies of these 2 monthly reports are attached to the printed set of these minutes. <br /> Budget <br /> Helene advised the Trustees that Joyce Mason had to remove the full-time hours for the Children's Librarian position <br /> due to lack of funds but that Joyce realizes the need for this full-time position and will look to see ifthere is anyplace <br /> she can get the funding. If Joyce is not successful in this search,then she will address it at the October Town Meeting. <br /> The Trustees discussed this situation at great length. Finally,consensus was reached by the Board of Trustees that <br /> David should forward an e-mail to Joyce Mason on behalf of the Trustees to thank her for her consideration and efforts <br /> and also send her the increased circulation statistics for her information. <br /> Communications <br /> Heather Lak tos reported that she, Melinda Gallant, and Sandi Abrams met. They are waiting to get a program <br /> from Dell. They are trying to set up"Moms of Mashpee"for March 7. They've contacted Mashpee High <br /> School to see whether students would be willing to volunteer to baby sit for Moms attending the program. They <br /> plan to do a ladies' night session with coffee and dessert. <br /> Helene stated that she had a recent discussion with Belinda and the model of the new library building is under <br /> construction. Torn O'Neill will donate the money to pay for the model. <br /> a David will ask Melinda to coxae to Trustee's March meeting to provide updated fundraising information. <br /> 0 David mentioned that Shelley updated the Board of Selectmen at last week's Selectmen meeting. <br />
