He <br /> mentioned that Melinda Gallant gave a brief presentation to the group and that Sandi Abrams and Janet <br /> Burke were also involved at the gathering. <br /> Heather advised that she is hoping to get started on a program for April 22dor 23' to get more people <br /> involved. <br /> Heather advised that she and Sandi Abrams have a concern in selling bricks&benches: What happens <br /> m the unlikelihood that the Library doesn't get built? The Trustees discussed this and the feeling was <br /> that with Town money and grant money already,tagged there should be no problem in getting the new <br /> Library built. Consensus was reached that anyone donating money for the bricks and benches <br /> walkway for the new building could request their money be refunded if the new building was not b0t. <br /> In addition,the Trustees agreed that this question should be forwarded to Town-Counsel for legal <br /> guidance. <br /> Carlo stated that it would be helpful from this point on if we Have regular update as to how much has <br /> been raised. said individuals wanting o ma donation invariably ask how much has been raised <br /> thus far. L <br /> David said Melinda would give us an update at our April meeting. She is away on vacation now and <br /> that's why she plans to attend the April meeting. <br /> Heather said she counted the bills in the big jar in the Library: $684. Heather guesses there i <br /> approximately $150. in coins(coins not counted yet so this i "guesstimate"). <br /> Ann MacDonald-Dailey advised that she read a boob entitled"Asking"' and it is a great read about <br /> fundraising. <br /> Communication <br /> David advised that Cape Cod business magazine that is published times a year included insert in their <br /> March April issue which is devoted to Mashpee, including an article on the Library. David passed around a <br /> copy of the insert for the Trustees to view. Carlo suggested that copies of the Mashpee insert article be sent to <br /> FinCom, to Town Hall, to New Se bury Homeowners Association, et al. David will bring more copies of the <br /> insert to next month's Trustee meeting. <br /> David advised that Ted Nodolny has been serving as "acting" 'resident of the Friends of Mashpee public <br /> Library for the past 3 years,but is looking to step'do n as his work responsibilities have increased. Therefore <br /> the Friends will be in need of a 'resident and there is not a successor in plane. David asked the Trustees to <br /> think of suggestions fora replacement. Also, David stated that this coming Monday Ted is meeting with State <br /> and County-wide Economic Development people in a mini brainstorming session to determine what funds <br /> might be available. <br /> Library Trustee -Laws <br /> David provided a copy of the By that were accepted July 12, 1994 and asked all Trustees to take the <br /> copy hone and review so we can discuss at next meeting. favid again reminded everyone theBy-Laws are to <br /> be reviewed, especlahy with Town Charter.
