BOARD of LEBRARY TRUSTEES C <br /> REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING <br /> MON A Y9 NOVEMBER 13,2006 <br /> MA-SIHIPEE LRAY <br /> Present: David Burton, Carlo D'Este,Heather Lakatos,,Ann MacDonald-Dailey, Dianna Smith,Nancy <br /> Stafford, and Helene DeFoe, Library Director. <br /> Absent: Nancy Soderberg <br /> Also Present; Brian Kehrl,Mashpee Enterprise. <br /> Chairman David Burton called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. welcoming Mr. Kehrl from Mashpee <br /> Enterprise. <br /> Reports <br /> Helene began her reporting by advising that there has been some movement on the building grant waiting list <br /> and a press release went out from the Board of Library Commissioners at the end of last week. Three libraries <br /> ahead of us were funded. The third one,Dudley, received a partial grant. They still have$500,000 coning to <br /> therm so they are number I on the waiting list and we are number 2. <br /> Helene then presented the draft budget to the Trustees for their review and comments. She will submit the <br /> final version to Torn Manager at the end of this week. In discussing the budget figures'and.the circulation <br /> figures,Helene mentioned that this past steer was very difficult for the staff to handle the extremely heavy <br /> workload.and it would.be a benefit to.request temporary part-time help.of 19.hours.per geek for.the months-of <br /> That request is included in the budget. <br /> The-CLAMS-circulation,s# i� =rep rt. f-J et urke' monthlyrepot for October were reviewed. Copies <br /> of the.,monthly-reports.are attached to the pri nted,set ofthese minutes. <br /> Finally,,'David.-advised the.Trustee .that,he received notif illation that the Mashpee Public Library was certified <br /> and-xs..to receive_state aid in-the amount of$16-:5 79.67. -David-said this-is,part.of.what eve.do.each year.and <br /> this also shows how certification is so important and staying staffed and work of our Library Director enable <br /> funds such as this to be brought in to ton to help defray the cost of the library. <br /> Ad Hoe Committee <br /> David stated that as a housekeeping.measure he was reminding.the Trustees that at the last Trustee meeting the <br /> Board voted to accept the spirit of the dram version of the vision for Mashpee document. David distributed a <br /> copy of the final version of the Vision for Mashpee document for the Trustees to review and adopt. <br /> Motion: Heather Lakatos motioned that we accept and adopt the vision for Mashpee document as <br /> written; Dianna Smith seconded this motion; and it was unanimously passed. <br /> David said the Trustees will be attending the public segment of tonight's Board of Selectmen meeting, and h <br /> will present the Selectmen nth a copy of this Vision for Mashpee document during the public comment <br /> period. <br />
