Several first grade classes from the K.C. Coombs School scheduled walking field trips to <br /> the library during the month of October. Mrs. Wilber was scheduled on October e but <br /> had to cancel unexpectedly. Ms. Russell s class visited the library on October 1 3and <br /> there were 25 people who had a tour-of the library, story time, and checked out books. <br /> Ms.. Mutrie 5 s class was scheduled for October 2&; however, that day was rained out. <br /> FIs. 1lutrie's class rescheduled their visit for October 27ffi and 25 people visited the <br /> library. <br /> The Title I teachers from the K.C. Coombs School scheduled their annual meeting at the <br /> library on October 12 . Both children and parents were invited to hear about what the <br /> library has to offer, a story time, craft activity and a snack. The attendance this year was <br /> 1. <br /> On October 2 Ms. Stearns, a teacher from the K.C. Coombs School, scheduled an <br /> evening at the library for her Kindergarten class. There were 35 participants who <br /> enjoyed story bine and checked out boobs. <br /> I attended two SEM LS workshops this month which I found extremely worthwhile. <br /> "How to Make My Own Cafe Work for Your Library" was presented by Kathy Lussier <br /> and Vickie Beene-Beavers on October 11"'. We learned how My own C66 was created <br /> and hove to administer the web site, on October 106'I attended the workshop, "The <br /> What, Why and How of Teens" which was r sente l by Linda Braun. This workshop <br /> provided valuable information on how to service teens in your library. <br /> On October 2PI vent to the Mashpee Mgh School to meet with Dari LaPointe, the high <br /> school librarian, and two art teachers. I was able to share information VAth the teachers <br /> about the My own C66 web site for teens, and the poster contest to promote My Own <br /> Caf6 which is being sponsored by SE1LS, The art teachers agreed to encourage their <br /> students to participate in the poster contest by providing extra.credit. <br /> I attended the quarterly meeting of the Lipper Cape Family Network on October 5 at the <br /> Sandwich Public Library. The CFN is the rant project which brings s Rosemary <br /> Modic and funding for family programming at the library. <br /> The Ma h ee Community Partnership Council held a meeting on October 174h.
