On March9 1 attended an Open House at Barnes & Noble in Hyannis. On April 20"' and 21 , 15% of all purchases <br /> with library vouchers will be donated to libraries. The vouchers will be available at <br /> libraries beginning April 1'. <br /> I attended the CCELA Conference with other staff members on March 15'h. The three <br /> technology workshops I participated in were both fascinating and informative: Using <br /> MP3 Players, Social Networking, and 25 Tech Websites not to be Missed! The Keynote <br /> Address "Open Cape and Unwired village", given by Teresa Martin and Dan Gallagher, <br /> was very enlightening. I found the conference to extremely valuable, The entire day <br /> brought to light how important is for libraries-and their staff to keep abreast of the rapidly <br /> changing technology in our society. And to top off the day., the lunch was delicious! <br /> On March 20'[1 1 attended the Retirement Information session at Town Hall. <br /> The Children's Librarians Roundtable Meeting was held in Eastham on March 21". We <br /> discussed our November Family Library event, had a small retirement celebration for <br /> Judith Blaisdell from Bourne, and then Vickie Beene-Beavers from SENES gave a mini <br /> workshop on weeding. <br /> d <br /> We.had some very sp cc i al visitors for Preschool Story Hour on March 2r <br /> 3 There were 7 <br /> canine compan* enjoy an ions and their owners who helped us e *oy dog stories and a craft. This <br /> was a visa from the Animal Companion Program and the leader of the group, Jan <br /> Weine r,, explained animal safety to the children and their parents. There were 41 who <br /> participated in this event. <br /> On March 27'hl attended a SEAS workshop in Lakeville entitled "Teen Spaces, Cool <br /> Spaces". This was a fabulous workshop presented by Kim Bolan, a nationally know teen <br /> consultant. She discussed the planning and design- of teen space, and also teen <br /> programming, marketing and customer service to teens. -I came away from this workshop <br /> with a Wealth on information and some great 'ideas to implement now. <br />
