Re: Library Construction Bond Bill Hearing Page 3 of 4 S200An Act to Establish a Master of Library Science Assistance Program Senator Morrissey This bill is a refile of Representative Toni O'Brien#s bill from last year. This legislation would authorize the Board of Higher Education t . create a grant program "subject to appropriation"to people working in public lrbrades who are planning to attend or attending an institution to receive a Fasters Degree in Library Science. Board of Higher Education would create rules and regulations to administer this program. The Committee reported this bill out favorably. H3401 An Act Relative to Joint Public Libraries Representative Hill This bili provides authorizing language for a joint public library in calculating the municipal appropriation requirement. The Committee reported this bill out favorably. H3403 An Act relative to Library Internet Safety Representative.loves This bill requires public libraries which provide computer access to minors to develop a written policy concerning Internet safety measures. The public libraries are required, under this proposal,to make this policy known to the parents and guardians of minors. Determination f these policies and the rules for enforcement will be developed"by the local library's governing authorities. The Committee reported this bill to a study committee.
